I am wondering who the idiot that does the draw is!

I've been quiet about it all season, because running a new team, you have to be carefull not to blame your losses on the draw!

BUT - now I am fed up!

It seems the MS no longer applies fairness to the draw (as they did in previous years).

What that means is, that the bottom half of the draw play a disproportionate number of top teams, while the top half don't play any at all!

I'll give you a for instance.

We are ranked 36th - and our opponents are seeded:
2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 24, 29 and Division 2

Spirit, who are ranked 20th get:
13, 16, 18, 22, 24, 27, 29 and Division 2

Now, am I the only one that finds it weird, that we play 5 teams in the top 10, while a 20th seed does not play a single one above 13th seed??

I am kind of tired of having to play 5-6 top 10 teams every event (every single event this season, we have played at least 5 in the top 10), when half the teams we compete against don't play any top 10 teams at all.

Mind you, I like playing top teams - but I want our competitors to do so also!

Nick, I hear you. Would be nice to get an explanation on why the draw is done this way. The system makes it very difficult for any team joining half way through the season to score decent points - but maybe that's one of the reasons?

We'll play whoever, but it does seem weighed in favour of teams who do well early in the year and therefore stiffles competition in the league tables as a result.

Surely there is a fairer way?

I have done the work now, and can see that the MS does NOT use the "snake" for making the draw - at least not all the way through.

It seems tje policy of the MS is, that if you do poorly, of don't play well, in the first event of the season, you will continue to get fcuked over throughout the season.

I am wondering why the draw is done that way, and what the logic is - when everyone was happy with the snake system used previous years?

Irritates me to no end that I only found out now, instead of at the start of the season, as the leaderboard might have looked completely different...

Yeah, as much as I enjoy playing you guys... this is my point exactly... this is the 4th tournament in a row where we get at least 5 top 10 teams... whereas other teams don't play a single one in the top 10!

Say your level, in terms of the division, is 20th place.... then you will theoretically lose 5 games every event, and thus miss qualification every event... where other teams only play teams seeded 15 to 30, and have a much better shot at qualification.

Yep, this is exactly what we found when we got to Germany, and found that if you have a poor result (or an unlucky draw) at the first event of the season, you get it in the shorts for the rest of the year.
