A few examples:

DG Icon (seeded 1), plays the following seeds:
15
23
25
27
29
31
33
35

Instinct (seeded 8) plays:
12
16
28
32
30
34
36
DIvision 2

Scalp (seeded 15) plays:
7
13
17

23
31
Division 2

ConXion (seeded 33) plays:

Now - can we agree the guy doing the draw is both drunk and on crack ??

I mean - ConXion gets ALL the top seeds that play afternoon Friday.... this is just well out of order!

Dunno Lene

Have a look yourself for Div. 2

But - I would assume the guy uses the same (wrong) matrix for all divisions.

It amazes me nobody has made a big stink about this before!!!!

Or you can play in the CPL, and work your way up the rankings, to get a little bit "easier" pool in the preliminairies, and end up playing teams that all bring in "ringers" in scence of top American players, haha..

And this is the same league where all the team representatives/captains had a meeting before the season, where one of the big issues was to save money/cut costs, so all the teams could be equal during the season. They did not want to end up with X-ball like roosters. One of the things was too cut the rooster, therefore just 7 players allowed to change every match.
But if you take a look at different teams right now, they have brought in pretty big names! Those teams are in my opinion a bunch of loosers, and the most funny thing about it, is if you look at the final scores in the 3 first events... Its aaaaaallll scandinavian!

If your team suck so bad, that you have to bring in new ringers all the time! Give away your spot to a team that really deserves it! There are several waiting in div.1:eek:

And if you want to be personal about it, come up and speak to me in Paris, i`m wearing #21 and my name is Frank

Yep, this is exactly what we found when we got to Germany, and found that if you have a poor result (or an unlucky draw) at the first event of the season, you get it in the shorts for the rest of the year.
I must be missing something here

Blackout played crap in the first event of the season finishing a lowly 22nd. We were a new team to Div 1, so got a slightly rougher draw than our peers, but nevertheless still played naff and deserved our result.

Germany came and we left with a 4th place trophy. Still had a tough draw with the likes of Solid and maharadjas but did the work on the field to get a result.

Every frikkin draw in Div 1 this year is hard. Yes some are harder than others but thats replicated in sports worldwide. The Millennium Series may have their own special way of working out the draws - god knows i'm not going to spend hours working it out, if you are unhappy about it don't waste your time on here - go straight to Laurent and Baldwin and offer them an alternative.

22nd place is the lower part of mid-table, so presumably your draw for Maxs would have been largely upper-mid-table teams. Obviously if you have a better team (you don't get a 4th and 3rd place purely with a lucky draw), you will be able to work your way up the seedings. If you are one of the lower teams in the division, there is little chance to improve on a bad first result as you get drawn against teams you are most likely to lose against, which is really disheartening. At the same time, the top teams have a much easier time getting to Sunday because they only play the lower teams.

Now it should be obvious why this is - the system must be designed to ensure that the better teams get to the quarter finals, and eventually you should have the two best teams in the final, rather than knocking each other out in the prelims.

You could say the lower teams just have to play better and they will progress, but it's not that simple - some players will always be more talented, or have more time to train, or more support and resources to improve. But it would be nice for those poor teams in the bottom bracket to have at least a few games against similarly-ranked teams, and have a chance to move against those teams, rather than get the feeling they're paying a load of money to go and have their arses handed to them. As it is their only other option is to go and play a lower division. Except they have to wait a season to do that.

The Tigers Am squad playing Millenniums this year have only had a couple of players of real Div 1 quality, but valued the challenge of playing at a higher level over the satisfaction of getting better results in Div 2. But by being drawn against not just harder teams, but most of the hardest teams in the division, and the dawning realisation that it'll be the same all year, has somewhat knocked the enthusiasm out of the players. So now there aren't enough players to field a team, for the second event in a row, and those of us that do still want to play aren't able to because of the transfer rules. Net result: Millennium loses our money.

Now I know next to nothing about how draws and schedules are operated, so I have no idea what the answer is. The system has to ensure that the finals always have the best teams, and as a result it ensures that the bottom teams are ejected as soon as possible. Seems like the only solution for individual teams is to give up for the year and try again next year in a lower Div.

Please wear a red rose. I will wear a white one. I will be the extremely large black lady wearing all the gold, in the leopard-print bikini top and elasticated waist pants. How personal did you have in mind hunny?
