Well, it's refreshing to see that I am not the only person being threatened with legal action by the PA and its representatives
Surely, the PA knows that the main reason teams left the tourney in the first place was due to the cost (not just entry - but the fact that tourneys cost a lot of time and money to all those involved). Trying to take even more money off a team smacks of capitalism to me (just like banks that charge you £35 for knocking back a £10 DD - then charge you for being £35 over-drawn!).
I can see the PA's point - it costs money to set up tourneys - and you need to re-coup your losses somewhere - perhaps a % non-returnable deposit would have been a better idea?
There is NO real money in UK paintball - so why do people insist on trying to take what little bit there is?
Maybe instead of teams trying to improve their paintball skills etc. - they should take up a SPORT that has real rewards - and actually costs a lot less to play (a cheap football is only 99p!).
This way - we can all be friends again - and that lovely Americanistic word "sue" shall never rear it's ugly head again. Oh sorry, I took a trip to fantasy land then...
That death-nell of UK paintball is getting even louder and more frequent. Forget ramping, petty in-fighting, personal issues and now forget that replica firearms bill - we are just killing ourselves!
Paintball as a recoginsed sport in the UK? I think it's time we all woke up and smelled the cappcino! It is NEVER going to happen at this rate. It is going to remain nothing more than a VERY expensive hobby - with less and less people playing it.
So, this is not so much the death of the PA - more the lowering of that axe hovvering over UK paintballs head.
