Someone like barnett who possesses his type mentality has a sense of personal entitlement that trumps 'trivial' concerns such as the law, societal conventions, ethical concerns and morality.
In his head, he's always right, always justified and completely oblivious to anyone's criticism no matter how justified.
He could no more stop this inevitable spiral into oblivion than he could accept he's ever wrong in matters - the only thing that's been certain in all this apart from his inevitable demise is the fact that he will undoubtedly, unreservedly, unconditionally blame every other mofo apart from himself for what's happened ... to take responsibility for his own actions would be akin to shooting himself in the head, and how on earth could he destroy what he genuinely believes is, paintball's one true saviour.
Successful leaders know how to get the best from their peer group - all he did was estrange them with his arrogance and/or treachery.
And when he inevitably falls from grace, it's not because he failed, oh no, in his delusional mind, the industry set out to destroy him ... which is ironic because he had previously threatened to destroy many individuals in our sport who had the audacity to question his behaviour, and none of whom ever experienced one atom of destruction at the hands of 'timothy the annihilator'.... he's utterly impotent, disgustingly delusional and a prime facie case for being mad as a fuhkin hatter.
....
His tenure in paintball will read like a Shakespearean tragedy, the flawed Macbethian character irresistibly fulfilling his destiny, powerless to prevent himself from arranging his own funeral.
.. it was inevitable from day one and the only question was, how long it would take.
Well, I believe this is the beginning of the end for him because those people who still associate with him will be forced to consult their own conscience and ask themselves, 'Do I really want/need to associate with this guy and help put money in his pocket' .... Some time in the next month or so, these people will have to reflect on their responsibility to our sport/industry and act accordingly.
If he's forced to retire to the margins of our sport/industry and just service those who are resident up his rectum then our sport/industry will be a better place for it.
Right on ....
