I would say that it couldnt be someone whos only just started out in paintball the players reps for instance as a example be from major teams or have been in the sport a while and know abit about the MS i can think of a few people already!!

Easier schedule for who? Although teams will each play fewer games, I'm pretty sure the organisers will have the same total number of games played on the same number of fields, just being played by 25% more teams. So the refs will have nothing easier, and if anything the administration and general organisation people will have more work.
There are very few improvements that I can think of that would make what is in effect a 25% price increase worthwhile to the majority of teams. Maybe more refs per field, possibly much better general infrastructure like individual lockable rooms for each team, or free showering facilities.
But as things stand I know many teams who have told me that they won't be playing any Millenniums, or reduce it from 2-3 down to maybe their local one, after last year. The last straw for most people was the no byo for water at an event that didn't seem to be able to cater for the amounts that would be needed, let alone the rip off price for what little was actually available.
Even though I haven't played a Millewnnium for a few years, I was thinking of flying out to a couple this year for the social side & seeing some of my friends playing against international opposition. But I doubt I will now, as very few of those friends will be making any overseas trips this year.

Ehh..? The season has already started by that and we are enjoying the results of the worldwide harmonization. After the first round the MS will propably answer: "we started with this and are going to run with it for the remainder of the season".

Thats all well and good if 160 teams enter! look at the amount that played last year, and this year you are going to get two less games.
I'm sure if i was a paint Sponsor and was promised a full 160 then I might be happier, but I cannot see that happening can you?

I think that the Millennium series should be a bit more carefull when reducing value for money. There are alot more overseas events that can be attended for a fraction of the cost. Catalunya Open, Euroball, the EEPL, etc. If they are not carefull they will lose teams to rival events that offer "more bang for the Buck"

Ok, it was probably not clear understand, so i clarify it. It's easier to schedule 160 teams playing 8 prelim games, instead of 160 teams playing 10 prelim games.

You're comparing last years 8 event Millennium Series with this years 5 event MS. By the decrease of events you're going to increase participating teams now, even if not rational.

I think you may well have hit the nail on the head.

As I said - teams can vote with their wallets or just put up with it.

Personally I think that 5 days away, all the hotel bills, car hire, entry, food, paint etc for 8x7minute guaranteed games is getting a little thin.

Maybe teams will cut their commitment? Play at home and then test themselves once or twice abroad rather than committing to the expense of a series.

Of the teams that usually play - lets hear their thoughts on this!!!

PS the battery comment by Bolter - very droll!!

we Consilium dei will go, how can we miss the best series in Europe, and play the best to be the best. see u all on the field....

A poll won't be necesarry, you all know what the results will be...
Though I might put one up out of sheer boredom.

Okay:
Cynical ******* alert! Hide behind the couch if you are alergic to cynicism, or if you are too ugly to not hide behind a couch...

That whole EPA thing as set up by the MS is a FRIKKIN FARCE. And anyone arguing otherwise should be burned at the stake for heresy.

Oh, you want to know why...
What good is a body that represents the players, that is controlled by the MS? You tell me that....
That fluff they posted about the original EPA not being succesful is a load of crap. As you may well remember there were already several hundred members without any real advertising for it! The only reason it did not succeed is because the MS decided so. They declared it insignificant. Probably because they knew that such a body, if succesful, could make life hard for them.
I've spoken to a few of it's founders, and they were all driven and up for it, and this time around it wasn't player apathy that let them down.
A player's "union" will only work if it is independant, and as such has the power to force changes by threat of a popular boycott of an event. Do you think that the MS version of the EPA will ever tell the players to boycott something? Would you boycott your own product? Neither would I...

So, andybody that steps forward for this thing, even if they mean well, is to be considered a sellout, and should henceforth be bonusballed at every opportunity as punishment for treason...

A bit harsh, I admit, but hey.

Warm up ya stake Buddha!!

Didnt the press release say they wanted a Players commitee? Maybe fianlly they are looking to the players for future guidance?
Maybe they want to listen to 5 poeple that the Millennium players themselves have voted to represent them? Its probably easier to have a resonable conversation with 5 people than listen to 20 annonymous people posting across many forums?

Just me slightly less cynical view....I'll get ready of the torch and pitch fork brigade....burn me burn me.
