Let's hope this works,

How NOT to hold the gun. The arm has to come round the bottle and the gun is only close to the face because of the drop as they are shooting at right angles to their body. Imagine if you were looking at him from the front how much of his arm you would see!!!

This is the best one I could find.

The guy is shooting across his body, his wrist is in front of the bottle so he can wrap it under the reg so you don't see any forearm

see what I mean.

you can also how much higher you need to hold the gun with a drop to compensate for the height, which usually means a swan necked wrist, can't see how that's comfortable :)

You dont have to convince me dude

You wont see a drop forward anywhere near my marker anytime soon

They're sold as aftermarket additions - look nice - perform badly

Just my opinion (and yours obviously)

Mark

Good examples by the way

Hey nice Pictures ;)

I use a big tank (1.5) but have the minimum drop just to put the tank into a comfortable position. I've always found people using those huge drop forwards that get the tank under the gun look uncomfortable and don't seem to hold such a stable firing platform.

I will concede to those that use a drop because they find it more comfortable, that's just preference and I accept that.

But I will "argue" with those that hold the misguided view that the drop will help them stay tight in any way.....infact it does quite the opposite.

Pictures aren't bad I 'spose :D

Mark - However, don't get me started on how the MaxFlo could be sooo much tighter if they moved the fill nipple through 90 degrees so it didn't get in the way of your wrist  that's another thread altogether :)

Agree 100% with Beaker et al on the likely detrimental effect of drop forwards on tight play and also agree with Manike, and the reason I absolutely reject them for our guys is they make it very difficult to develop the right sort of technical habits for accurate shooting and snap-shooting I'm trying to teach our younger guys.

Ok Beaker I see your point and this is exactally why I started this thread. You gave me the answer I was looking for. Not the "Pros don't use them so you shouldn't BS I was hearing last night. The only disagreement I have is that with my Angel AIR I seem to end up with my barrel pointed downward without a drop. Then with a drop my markers sits in the crook of my arm nice and snug. But also sporting that Profile as in the 1st pic. Now and only now will I give it a try again. :D
