Alright Ballers in P8ntballer land I want to hear your side of the D/F thing. You see I have a good friend back in the states who hangs with a lot of the BIG name ballers and well because they don't use Drop Forwards I suck cause I feel comfortable with it. Basically he said "Take a hint from the Pros." Also "If they are winning and not using it, I shouldn't use it!" Well I also made the point that a majority of the Pro's he knows are like a short and $hit. So come one what's your opinion? Mine is if you are comfortable and you have tried it the so called "Pro Way" and you don't like stick with what you like.:D Screw him and the horse he rode in on!;)

To be honest: Go with what u feel comfortable with..I play back now (knees arent what they used to be)so with an 88 i put a smart parts drop foward on there and im fine..When i played mid i had a WDP compact drop foward on there..I never really felt comfortable with the gun so far away from my face without one..But now i even see back players without them so it all comes down to a matter of choice....God Bless The Tough Choices Are Life Is Filled With!:D

I like a drop forward because it makes your setup shorter, but I don't like them because it makes your setup higher. So i solved that dilema by afixing a WDP AIR Minidrop on my 45 c.i. It drops t forward a bit and only makes it a little higher.

I personally haven't ever been without a drop forward, and likely won't ever be. I don't carry anything smaller than an 88 and my arms aren't all that long, so a good sized drop is just the standard order of the day. If I'm using the short and fat style 88 it'll be an STO drop with a 2" extension bar; longer bottles I'll use a DZ II or PMI long rail. As for people that don't use any drop at all...well, it's got to be for a better reason than fashion statement. If they're using an AIR, the balance problem of the gun being too heavy towards the back with other regs doesn't happen because the AIR's bottle is lighter than most but the reg is much heavier than others. Perhaps their arms are just used to it and/or it fits their particular grip, which is entirely individual rather than uniform across the whole. Anyone that says "The pros do ___________" with anything other than "pull the trigger and make paint fly out the end" or "what they think will win" in the blank is probably running their mouth just to hear themselves talk. There's as much variance among them as anyone else. If doing one set of specific, easily defined, and obvious things worked, then wouldn't everyone do so and play exactly the same?

I used to play with an shocker without one - It was good because I only used an 1.1l bottle... At the same time it kept the Shocker with a low profile!!

Now I've switched to an Impulse with a 88ci:
I need a quite long Drop Forward and/or the new 1,5L bottle

The marker gets a lot higher, but that is better than having a marker too long to handle properly...

DropForward or not -> Try it for yourself... It might make a difference - it might be a good difference - it might be a bad difference...

Everyones right

If youve got short arms, long bottle - then a drop forward seems like a plan to me

As long as the gun is near to your face/not miles from you and therefore difficult to control or get good consistency then go with it.

If that means a drop forward then fine

Personally I find they cramp me up a bit - and that means it affects the way I shoot the gun - feeling relaxed behind the gun is important.

They are the spawn of the devil

I can only see them being usefull in some extreme circumstances with large bottles. But then I would question if you have the right set up if you require that size of bottle.

For everyone else they make your elbow stick so far out it's untrue. Just get someone behind a bunker and ask them to get tight, but in a position to shoot you. If they have a drop you will see the loads of their forearm and wrist - you have to..... to get round the bottle. If they don't and they hold their gun "properly" then their wrist is in front of the bottle and tucked under so you don't see any of their arm.

The only time I've ever used one is the short eclipse drop as that acts more like an angled rail.

I have to say I think those that think drop's make you tighter are plain wrong - those that think it makes it more comfortable - well, that's horses for courses.

Agreed Beaker

But some guys just find that the gun ends up like 6 inches from they're nose - this is not good!!!

Luckily the Max Flow + 1.1 or 1.5 is perfect for me

So ner ner ner

This is true too

If they shoot at 90degrees all the time then that is a problem.

It aint a shotgun after all!!!

but believe me - I agree with you - I recommend no drop forwards to everyone - hate em hate em hate em

Only say get em if their particular style cant be changed or physical attributes necessitate

It's funny to see all these guys using them and then leaning way back to get behind the marker!!!

Tighter they aint - EVER
