Regarding Support for Soldiers, its NOT a Charity. Its a Fundraising initiative. I interviewed Tim Barnet about it for Paintball Scene. I've quoted the section of the interview below.

Support For Soldiers is a Fundraising Project involving Shoreline, BZ Paintball, DXS, and UKScenario.com, how did the project come in to being ?

Many of us involved in the project have served in the Army in the past and we recognised that a lot of money was being raised at paintball events that then disappeared into larger charities. Myself and Paul Banks had a long exchange of views with Simon Weston about a year ago and from that discussion we decided that we would try and pool resources to raise a large amount from our paintball activities and inject that directly into families
who needed it. We didn't want a penny to disappear into admin fees or the money swallowed up into multimillion pound projects, we just wanted to give small amounts at a very low level where we felt it would be more effective. So we spoke to Procaps, Tippmann, Al Murray and Tony Lindsay and they joined
Shoreline and BZ in supporting the project. We raised about £7,000 which is a fantastic testament to the generosity of the players in the UK. The full accounts will be released in a few weeks so players can see where they money
was spent.

Sadly however, we will not be running the project next year. As with many things in life, the actions of a few can spoil things for the many. On two occasions this year, all of the companies involved have had to threaten legal action against people who whilst pursuing their own agenda have accused Support for Soldiers of being a fraud. Which is outrageous. Both quickly disappeared when the legal action was taken and a full apology was received. However, as a collective, we have regretfully all decided that if giving up our time and our own money to run such a project means that we'll be the object of attacks from a small minority, then we are not willing to carry on. Those responsible should be ashamed and thankfully many of the players know who they are so I can't see them being around for long. But,
Support for Soldiers was a great idea whilst it lasted and the money raised will have a real impact on the lives of those who need it.
Sadly too many people jump on the conspiracy bandwagon and think that something good is too good. If its a scam as some have claimed then thats a lot of companies and individuals who are held in high regards who are in on it !!

We were one of the teams affected by the "paint issue". Whilst it was a distraction before the event started, there were a number of discussions talking place between the interested parties. Those parties will know what was said. Everything else going on right now is pure conjecture.

If this is the case then i apoligies for my earlyer comments, i think the people who represent e.g staff, need t be clear when posting as they represent the company they work for, although i was wrong i think theese things need to be more clear all i saw was someone saying that money was going to charity, when i searched for the charity on the charity register it was not there thus my strong comments

Problem is, this has reared it's head a few times, with the same information being made available. Some people just haven't taken in that information and have continued to press the 'it is not a registered charity' case.

I have personally contributed and am completely satisfied that it has been for a very good cause and making a real difference.

Due to my tirdness my post arnt making much sense so il keap it short, i struggled to find any infomation about this guys inisitive so only had the infomation being posted to go on... i belive this is the case for the majority of people posting in this thread, when colecting funds for charity infomation need to be clear simple as that... as far as i am aware there is no infomation readily avialable about how much has been raised and exactaly were it is/will be going and this infomation needs to be avilable with confimation from the charity(s), the only reason i have been so quick to apoligise is becuse of my trust in dan and his soruces anyway last post for tonight PEACE!

Mr Barnett now threatens me with legal action? bring it on.....republishing defamatory remarks which he has already been made aware are untrue is a criminal offence. Check where i stood within twelve months of the accusations, I was cleared of any involvement by the police buddy.....you were aware of that and have been warned previously. You WILL be hearing from my solicitors.
