No use at all, as it's output is around 150psi, plenty of cfm though.

You could probably run an ion or shocker off one, but it would be a bugger to mount on your back..lol.

Seriously though, compressors for HPA (high pressure air, 3000psi - 4500psi) are several thousand pounds to buy new, and that's just a small one. Your best bet, is to get a dive tank and fill rig, then it's only around £3 to get the dive tank filled from a dive shop.

Cool only £3. So for 4-6 of us we will need to get 2 tanks and a filling station? (for a whole days shooting?)

I use a lightweight 7L dive bottle which gives me a good days play. So a 12L 300bar (4500psi) steel bottle would give 2 maybe 3 players a good day.

A CO2 fill rig connects to your bulk tank, and will have a hose leading from that to an ASA threaded adaptor, which is what you screw your personal tank onto. It should also have some various ways built in to vent the gas that is between the tanks (i.e in the hose). You would probably need to get some training or be shown how to properly fill from someone at a paintball site or who knows what they are doing, as you need to weigh the tank to make sure you don't over-fill it, and also need to chill it before filling in order to make sure it takes as much as it can. This is normally done by adding a small amount of gas, and then letting it all out at once so that the small tank drops in temperature. These steps take some care and attention, but you should be able to do it yourself after a few gos.

I don't know about the costs of renting a bulk tank...so I'm afraid I cant advise you on what would be cheapest.

In your initial post you talk about getting an air powered gun, what do you have now and what are you thinking of getting? That might help, as some guns will only be able to run on air, as the internals are sensetive to the temperatures and nastiness that CO2 brings with it. CO2 is great for cheap guns like a spyder, but it does come with a certain degree of problems. If you tell us what gun(s) you have in mind, it would help in deciding what would work best :D

DO NOT BOTHER DOING THIS UNLESS YOU HAVE FULL TRAINING IN FILLING Co2 OR AIR

if your running Co2, then just buy an 'in date' 20oz canister, and get it filled when you need to, at your local site. Likewise, if your running Compressed air HPS or LPS, just buy your tank, and get it filled at your ocal sit/diving centre. If you want to get you own fill stations, get some experience under your belt first. Speak to the bosses, IN PERSON, at your local site. Ask them to show you PROPERLY how to fill. its best just to get your tank done when you play. Accedents happen when people start messing with things they're not certain on.

You've got to be very careful with high pressure air.

This is what you should do. Think first, then think again, then have another think, then when you're sure it's all correct, think again. Then get someone else to do it.;) :D :p

Iam sure you can get the B.o.c bulk air tanks to rent, dive tanks will work out expensive but a rented bulk air from B.o.c will work out cheaper. The only problem is you are renting it ,so there is an ongoing cost.
