NXL is dead, long live the NXL

This is actually old news. (The PBStar report, that is.)

And rumor has it the DC Productions deal expired awhile ago but was kept more or less under wraps as the whole thing had been touted as The Future of Paintball--and when the future dies, what's left?

Look for more shake-ups in off season, too.

Well, I think we all "knew" it was dead, but had anyone actually put it in writing?

As for shakeups - com'on, when are there NOT shakeups in the offseason?

Of course, it was in writing, silly, it was a contract. :p And, yes, if by writing you mean made the statement or similar ones in public places for anyone to read (or see).

On the Richter scale if nothing that has happened yet is more than a 5 or 6 think 8.5

Ummm, nope. As the Richter scale measures seismic upheaval I hazard to suggest I'm not predicting anything good. :) (Though who knows how it might shake out.)
Ah, silly me...I read it as 'If you think Dick Clarke was a five on the Richter scale, wait until you see what's coming' in a flag waving kind of a way. hey don't call you Mr Bombastic for nothing. Ah wait, I'm confusing you with Shaggy again...

I then had a minor stroke brought on by maniacal cackling and have only just recovered.

Normal transmission resumes.

Tip of the iceberg

Here's a teaser for ya.
At Pittsburgh there was supposed to have been a meeting of franchise holders ostensibly requested by Sergey. The Commish was delayed in his arrival--something about his real job apparently, first one day, then another and before it was all over, it was all over. No meeting.
Could be nothing but all the reps were there and rumor had it the Boston rep had an aggresive agenda for the meeting.

Could be a power struggle is about to unfold and with numbers and affiliations spread the way they are, it's gonna get real interesting methinks.........

While I respect the mans vision (Sergey), he assumes a healthier and more professional industry than exists. He assumes an ability to make long-term loss-leading investments. He also assumes the industry can be cohesive and co-operative. Unless he plans to finance his grand scheme himself, and establish his own obedient infrastructure that will protect his investments rather than exploit them, it ain't going to happen.

I believe the Russians weakness is his familiarity with a sensible environment, where things follow a plan and make sense.
