State fair grounds just outside of Tampa more than likely. Then again with a pedestrian bridge connecting the Raymond James Stadium grounds with the Yankees spring trainning Stadium grounds and Mons Venus 10 minutes walking distance away, that idea might have merrit.

Two events in Florida seems a little much. I know there's a big baller population in FLA and the weather's nice, but it seems a little redundant.
You prefer changing time zones?

Nope, I just like the idea of covering more of the country with the events.

A lot of local/regional teams look forward to playing at least one national-level event each season. While most of them can't afford (or can't get organized enough :D) to travel nationally, they can travel a couple of hours to an event. I just think it would be a shame to cut out either the northeast or midwest event in favor of a second Florida event.

Granted the local/regional teams aren't the ones making the magazines, but they form a pretty large part of the overall league (look at the number of teams who only play one or two events). And it's how a lot of teams move up to a national series.

As long as they pay for my travel, I'll go where the tournaments are :D :D :D

PS - Chris - . Wasn't trying to misquote you or steal your thunder. What I posted was the only thing I saw in your post. Thanks for the summary!

So I suppose the logic with same-ole, same-ole is to not confuse the public with one version (the old format) on TV and a new one on the tourney circuit?

I can understand it but how much longer do we have to be stuck with an old-fashioned format?

X Ball, Blitzball or whatever Mystery Format may have been looked at would certainly be better for TV even if Pure Promotions have done a brilliant job of packaging the aging format.

My thoughts.

Nah, I just didn't believe the tie-in with NPPL would happen...it'll be 7-Man and, I think, XBall, but XBall limited to 8 teams a la the NXL.

And if that happens Europe has done 100% better than I thought it would for 2004.

Seems like the man has his ear to the ground. I suppose you're talking about Millennium having the 8-team X Ball?

I don't know anything Steve, it's just what I think is going to happen...I'd ask TJ but Baca has stolen Momma Lambini's crystal ball so he's useless.

But yeah, I'd put money on 8-team XBall alongside trad. 7-Man for this season, and I think that that would be a bit of a result given it was nearly ****ed up last time.

But which 8 teams? Legion, Tontons, Nexus, Joy, Tigers, Dux, Ignition and Hardcore would seem the most likely suspects to me.

Baca- I think your overreacting to the shoter game thing. Most games dont go full time, I doubt we will see a dramatic increase of draws due to time running out. Whats the big deal?

What can the NPPL do though? I doubt they can steal the format. There isn't much to do to this format except make games last multiple matches.
