9.03 ....Jerseys or tops must be tucked into player's pants or harness....

Looks like the xball players will be goin Steve Urkel style.

OK then with regards tops tucked in or out define tucked in??

Does the top have to be tucked in an puled skin tight to the body whilst tucked in or is what i think alot of teams do have a xxxl top on a migget of a front player tucked in but still has fabric balloning around all over the place  but it is still tucked in!!

As for colour of tops i dont think fat ladies charms are gonna be pleased with the new top colour rule either but why pink or orange tops theres green, blue, yellow and white paint to name a few or is there a ruling now that only orange or pink paint is allowed to be used in tourneys so the banning of pink and orange tops???

As for padding on Dye tops your telling me that the little patch of padding is gonna stop paint breaking  i would ave thought big baggy tops would be more of a problem and for that matter what about baggy pants hell do they promote bouncers more?? At this rate we will be playin in frigging lycra

Now that would be funny seeing Ledz play in that outfit :D

I highly recommend that you do two things:

1. read the rules carefully

2. make sure someone from your team attends the captains' meeting and asks a lot of questions:)

One reason i don't like having jerseys tucked in which isn't anything to do with looks (although i agree there too) is that when supermanning on your front, having your jerseys untucked means there's a smooth surface to slid on, having straps for harnesses and velcor etc makes sliding harder and also means you pile up a load of cr@p in you harness belt.

I agree I haven't ever managed to get hit under my jerseys and as for bounces, just tucking it in then balloning it up in front of you is much more likely to bounce than when it just hangs straight down in front of you

I suggested at a captains' meeting because it is so much easier to explain these things in a regular conversation.

First off, this is not something the some Millennium committee arsed up regarding color of paint. All the major leagues, including NXL have this rule. Why? Because many of us believe that if we save two exclusive colors for paint only then it will make it a little bit easier for refs to detect hits. We don't want hits to easily get hidden in "camoflauge" that has some of the same color. Anything that reasonably makes it easier to ref, I'm in favor of. Why? Because I ref a lot and because I'm recruiting refs now and our job is hard enough without running across the field to check some sticker or spot on a top that looks just like a hit.

Now you mention other colors. As soon as orange and pink get to be de facto protected color everywhere (not just in the NXL) then players will start only buying orange and pink because they will mark better.

Concerning jerseys/tops: I think the rule I heard was you can pull out your jersey in the front some as long as the front of the pack is not covered more than approx. 3/4ths when standing up.

Concerning tops with padding in the shoulder: it doesn't matter to me whether the padding will take a direct impact without breaking at 10 joules or 15; the rules say no padding except in specifically allowed areas. The rules will be enforced consistently in the Millennium series.

So unless the board tells us differently or the rules are changed, what you can find in the NPPL rulebooks goes. In either case you'll find out what will DEFINITELY apply at Maxs Masters via the captains' meeting.

Those of you who really dislike some of these rules should lobby to get them changed by writing to the NPPL rules committee and Joern Windler, the Millennium rules commissioner.

My god, this entire thread is giving me deja vu. It's almost an exact repeat of last years jersey fiasco. And although it has already been said, I’m just gonna have to bring up this point again.

A lot of the rules are far too ambiguous, leaving lots of issues to the discretion of the field refs which i don't feel is a good thing. What the hell is tucking in exactly?! What exactly is padding?! One person’s idea of padding might be very different to another’s, ditto for tucking in. Arguments over nitty grittys like this SHOULD NOT occur for gods sake. The rules need to black and white, clear as day and totally comprehensive. If that means the rules have a 500 page appendix explaining the exact maximum thickness of jersey that is allowed then so be it. At least then you wont have people going on and on about how their new rubber jersey is for aerodynamics and not so 4/10 balls bounce off

Maybe the other option is for all equipment, jerseys, markers whatever to be standardised and sanctioned by the NPPL/Millennium. All jerseys will be made out of the same material, same fitting design, whatever. And any variations have to be submitted to an official body for assessment before its use is allowed. To be honest, this is where I see ball going if it ever wants to get REALLY big. I'm sure this system is in place in all other major sports concerning player gear, race cars or whatever. Another example is that all marker designs be standardised and approved with any variation on those approved marker systems needing verification before use. Yeah, maybe it will stifle you marker tarts who stick shiny bells and whistles on your gats but it is probably the only clear way around this whole gun cheat issue.

Hey Steve i didnt say that the mills arsed up but now that youve answered my questions thankyou very much thats all i wanted ot know ;)

Tho there has been a turn around with paint colours with regards last year pink paint was being blamed for staining i know the mills ave done some testing and yes from a marshalls point of view pink and orange are the best to spot i should know marshalled plenty of times myself so i presume that all the paint companys that are providing paint know this just checking so we ave paint to shoot at the tourneys ;)

So since the Mill events are no longer BYO (as far as i understood)
due to the staining paint reason,
does that mean all Paint for Sale at Mill Events will be Pink and/or Orange ??

Because that would be a real start to making those colors defacto protected in Mill events.

And it would at least give the correct signal to the players,
and give them a valid reason to accept/understand the colour of clothes rule more easily.

It also shows that it is an effort by all parties (Players Promotors Industry)to change things for the better.
and not just a "laying down the law thing" by the rules committee.

I have to agree that I hate playing with my jersey tucked in under my pack......It becomes loose quicker and u find your self with your pack bouncing up and down or twisting sideways as you move around.

Also as I'm a skinny wretch it makes me look seriously wierd and feel self concious...But that's a seperate matter.
