Well Pete
Brian: I still don't see why everyone believes it is wrong for a team manager to step onto a field after a game, after having obtained permission to do so from the refs?
It's a grey area. On one hand, he had permission from the field judges to be there, and as a Nexus team member, he had every right to be there, but as an NPPL Official, should he have stepped back?
In an infinitesimal sense, Chris is kind of right. It's all about public perception and judgement. People will look at the situation and say "Well...he's an NPPL Official....he should not have been there." Keep in mind that they'll be basing their opinion on heresay and from hearing it third-person, but still - it's public perception in the end.
But, like I said...we should be more concerned with the fact that Rage was allowed to play on, and, sad as it is, nothing will ever come to them for the situation they started.
Perhaps this will change in 2004.
