the yanks have already banned pink and orange markers from a major tournie series (and clothing i believe) and at campaign this year it wasn't confirmed but it was strongly reccomended not to purchase pink or orange equipment including guns for 2005 this was said at the captains meeting.

I took that to mean- don't buy orange or pink kit as we'll be banning it next season just like the yanks have.

so i'd hold off on your fade!

Does this mean that orange and pink will be the only paint colours allowed.

I know that definatley with the NPPL Pink and Orange (not part of the lazer spectrum) have been protected paint colours for quite a while, and this years up date to ban pink/orange guns should have been in effect all along, just that the NPPL rule for pink and orange quipment ban was a bit ambiguos (sp?) last year

I dont know how many events in the UK are using the NPPL rule book next year ( other their own).
But that does not stop people claiming that this or that is in any rule book.
Most (maybe all) events in 2005 will be using the PA rulebook.
and as much as it will be similar to the 2004 one, paintball is a allways evolving sport and the Paintball Association will keep up with changes as it deems fit.
We want people to play paintball and if we change a rule believe me there is a valid reason, we do not do anything because someone else has, we do it because it should be done.
The banning of clear hoppers is because we have evidence that it helps conceal a paint mark if the paint inside it is the same colour as the paint it has been marked by.
Unlike the NPPL we have let players to dye/paint their hoppers so they become allowed.

We have no plans to ban any colours on markers.

Right guys, i've sprayed one side of a clear egg smoke, and the other side black, with this polycarbonate paint. Today i put about ten thousand balls through it and the paint has shown no sign of wear at all.
The black is a solid black and covers really well, and the smoke will need several coats to get a good colour. This paint chemically etches into the plastic and won't come off easily, not even from paint.
If you wanted to you could mask off the rear and use this as a window to see the level of paint.

Job done, it works well.
