At the end of the day, if these banned colours and clear hopper bans make the game better, then yes it is good.
It's going to pi## you off, if you're the one with the orange jersey, or clear hopper. But you should have seen this one coming.

Whining?

I don't like the rule because I like a clear loader and it makes it easier to count how many balls I have left ;) and I hate the idea not being able to freely choose which color loader I want...
Fortunately I'm not part of the mentioned series but I suppose the rule spreads around :(

I thought you have to stop if a ref tell's you to for a paint check?? i was under the impression you can carry on playin but not move up/back??

im proberly wrong but im sure i read that in some rules for the euro indoor or somthin like it!!!

:)
It is- but it dosn't matter if you know its not a hit, in the chaos of things a judge can easily mistake it for a hit and incorrectly pull your armband, their only human......and there isnt always time to do a proper check...if a judge only notices the 'hopper shot' half way thru the player making a move etc its asking for mistakes to happen...Banning clear hoppers is good for everybody.....and smoke looks cooler anyway:)

yea smoked would still be ok. it's just easy to look at ur hopper instead of opening the lid to check ur paint levels lol im just lazy i guess lol ;)

What would be good is a hopper with a small clear strip running down the side or back maybe about 1cm wide. Kind of like a paint level indcator type thing. That way it has the best of both worlds :)

But that means i have to lower my marker to see inside my hopper which means i have to stop shooting which in-turn means i get MUGGED lol ;) It all depends what the light is like cos if you have a black hopper it's hard to see ur paint level.

Practice more, you'll get a feel for how full your hopper is by the amount you've shot, or get one of the smoke or coloured shells as you can still se through them.
If you planning on spraying then mask off a strip....

I am absolutely amazed by this rule. I have been marshalling tournies for more years than i care to remember from woods all the way through. We have all had problems with stickers on hoppers and pots looking like hits but i have NEVER had any issues with a hit being concealed by a clear hopper. This is quite clearly rubbish. If there are enough marshalls on the field and they are trained to a reasonable level they should never be in a position where they can honestly be confused. If in doubt get in and check the player. This is a pathetic rule designed to cover up poor inexperienced marshalling.

Welcome to the fun game we call paintball, where beuarocracy (sp) is what makes it better!

Whats next? Banning fade annodizing? Only certaing colours of markers? Get real people! We are the people that pay for the tournaments to exist if we want to use clear hoppers it s pur perogative.
