I agree, just as long as we keep it in perspective, and we're not just waiting for the fall... get my drift?
Yes absolutely.
One other thing I would like to point out. Where as Robbo may not be expecting to get anything out of this event and the years play, others in paintball are. As I said before, we need more competitive teams to come out of the UK and Europe, results from this one team can, (and will) influence the start up and development of other teams to try and compete at the top levels. We need to develop a greater base of players and teams at all levels. Having a top Euro team is one part of this (there are other important factors I'm hoping that will get addressed also).
Some people (myself included) want to see a Euro team do well. So even though this is Nexus's 'development year' and Robbo isn't expecting results? (I won't get into that), we still want/need to see the guys achieving something. Even if it's just having them go over and play more reguarly against the top yank teams. All of that will eventually disseminate back through Euro Paintball and can only help.
Because of how this team was formed, who is on it, and the sponsorship, it has more importance than many others that have been formed before. It's going to prove a point one way or another. If that's pressure on the guys, so be it. We need this, and we need teams and players who can take the pressure and bring Euro paintball forward.
I want to see them win. I want to see more Brit teams in Europe. I want to see more Brit and Euro teams in the states.
I may be dreaming but one day I want to see a Brit team win the World Cup. On USA soil
