Well, seeing as it's only up the road from you...

To bring something out into the open that people seem to be skirting round without naming names...do people think that ramping is the reason teams like Ironmen, Avalanche, Joy and the Tigers have underperformed at recent Millenniums whilst inferior (on paper) teams have prospered?

It's a subtle combination of both when teams from opposite ends meet.....in my opinion...

There is no doubt - and you can even enlarge that list a good deal.

One thing that killed us in Germany, was that our breakout plans did not consider that everyone on a div. 2 team down the other end could suddenly shoot 15 BPS - even while running.

The first day in Germany, we on average lost 2 players on the breakout per game - against div. 2 and 1 teams!

We adjusted and did well the second day - but it was too late.

Such adjustments take time.... and you will see - the longer we get into the season - that the "upsets" disappear, and the "usual suspects" is part of the Sunday Club.... as teams adjust to the new playing environment (some slower than others ;))

1. Sure, they were just the examples that sprang to mind Nick.

2. So basically some teams have adjusted quicker than others, and this and this alone is the cause of the odd results?

Sorry - I don't buy it.

If Avalanche (or pick you "fallen" pro team of choice) could do perfectly well last year when playing against other Pro teams that were shooting 20bps plus with the widely-acknowledged illegal guns - then surely playing a Div 2 team shooting 15bps wouldn't be a whole lot different?

These teams have also been playing PSP-moded Xball, so ramping isn't new to them.

I'm surprised to hear you say that...following on down that road a way seems to fly in the face of what I thought you believed, or am I missing something?

Because everybody is now shooting at the increased rate and not just the minority cheaters, and whilst not every game will follow the 'unexpected' route, it only has to co-incide with a few other factors for the 'evening out' effect to dominate.....

I still don't buy it that the likes of these "fallen" teams are underperforming just because of ramping in the Mills.

If one is saying that these teams would only have come up across a couple of cheating guns before, so their guns gave them the edge, then that's to say that the problem was rare before, which by everybodies admission isn't true.

So either these teams came up agaisnt super-fast guns before (and did perfectly well against them) or they are only just experiencing it and so the scale of the problem was exagerated before.

I think the M$ result might have more to do with teams-on-tour than ramping...

The teams are geting unexpected results because of changed field designs and ramping, it is this combination that I think explains the anomalous results and I also think the number of teams who were cheating before was also exaggerated.
