Protection for those areas I mentioned in my last post are o.k. according to the rules. Too much padding anywhere or padding in areas other than elbows, knees, etc. are not going to be allowed. I interpret more than a single layer of padding to mean elbow pads PLUS padding in the jersey, etc.
I am not the rules guy for Millennium or NPPL but if I judge in an event and I see the Dye jerseys in question or any other with illicit padding, I will let that player know he/she must change jerseys before being allowed to play. That's the way I'll do it at Huntington Beach (unless told specifically otherwise) and I have TOTAL confidence I will be backed up by the ultimate.
Sorry about that but the line on padding has to be drawn somewhere or PB players will start looking like those carnival padded Sumo wrestlers.
