Correct me if i`m wrong, but if you get them to let the 2 best out of each group to go trough, that will make 16 teams ( out of 8 groups)
After that there is direct knockout games (just like from the quarter finals)
This will only give the Millenium 8 more games to fit into the schedule, and the teams a better chance to advance.

If not, the teams that is not ranked high after some tournaments will have a pretty hard time to get a chance to advance in the rankings.

Sounds like a very good idea. I'd imagine the MS would be very tight with time as it is, so 8 more games is basically a field for another half a day.

This way you get 12 going through, everyone gets at least two games more and the MS don't have any more games to fit in.

Now I wonder if the MS is reading this thread...

12 go through from prelims, not 8, highest losers (like when you have a 12 team Quarter finals and it's division winners plus one more.)

Their answer was, because of scheduling/time issues.

I dont think this never will be an issue, even with doing an extra round before the quarter finales, where the loosers are out and the winners go to quarter-finals. It will take 8 matches/4hours extra.

In the Norwegian Paintball League we run 16 teams from prelims to finales in one field in one day. (We start early and end late ) We run first to 3 points but 12 minutes playing time.

If scheduling/time is the reason, they should just have single-elimination for the top 8 NXL style. That's 7 matches (8 if you do consolation game for 3rd and 4th) instead of the 16 it takes to do two brackets of four and then elimination.

Well they do single elimination for the top 8 the way it is already.

Why not do top 16 - single elimination?

There will be 8 matches to cut it down to 8 teams

then 8 teams down to 4, which is another 4 matchs

Then Semi finals will 2 matchs

play off for the 3rd and forth

Then the final

Which is a total of 16 matchs in a day

The cpl have 8 teams that go though

They play 4 quater finals games

then 2 semi finals games

then losers games

then final

I make this 8 matchs in total ????


So if we have 16 spl teams go though and 8 Cpl , i make it 24 matchs though out the day to get a winner ??


I have been told there will 2 M7 fields , so the question to be asked how many games will be played on these fields during prelims !!!

6 matches pr. group * 8 groups is
48 Matches in 2 and 1/2 days (because we can use the CPL field for half a day) is
19,2 matches pr. day on the SPL field in the prelims

So i dont se why they cant do 16 matches in the final day?
