c'mon guys. complaining at this stage doesn't help. attend at the teamowners meeting next year and bring up your queries. or form a player's union to communicate to the MS.

i know this was done already, but compaining in a forum won't change anything...

Location, Location.
is there actually any one from the MS board who reads this ?

Could robbo ask barry to come on and say whats on his mind or answer few queries?

I know Nial used to come on and talk to players?

I find it interesting that the millenium series can update and change a facebook page but can't get one representative to come on here and talk to the players...

Admittedly, you would all probably take a torch to them, but still...they're obviously in the 21st century by being on facebook. I realise customer service isn't Ulrich's forte but surely someone must have a gander here now and then?

I just said "free beer and food" beacuse Stongle mentioned it before when he was counting all the expenses; my team doesn't drink either till the tournement ends. And I don't think teams are doing all their trainings and spending tons of money just for fun, of course we are all trying to do our bests. Trying to point out the relieving sides of this condition (which is kindda frustrating for all because of the expensive plane tickets and long flight hours-totally understandable) with all my good intentions and hospitality.
Duder, my concern is that the Mill are leaving it very late to announce new locations / venues for the series. Given this late advice, this may affect attendence which could undermine the quality of the event. When planning new locations, these should ideally be published earlier in the season so the teams can select what events to play and budget accordingly. I'm sure this will be a very good location for an event (and maybe holiday), but the teams are paying consumers and the Millennium must recognise this. If you lock teams in, you cannot increase event costs at short notice.

Its not complaining its called discussion that's what a forum is for.

Is the team owner meeting for all teams or is it just spl/cpl?

Has the MS got a rep to talk to teams?

For the record someone from the MS staff said that the idea of Paris being a non scoring Cup was voted by the few teams whose intended the 2009 team meeting.

Unlike many of your posts I detected no hint of sarcasm, surely you must have intended some with that last statement?

Sarcastic, moi???? I'm pretty sure the Millennium's job is a tough one, but you never, ever, ever forget client or customer service. This poor thought process not only leg's over the teams, but also the people hosting the event. Just because they have a virtual monopoly on European panitball events, doesn't mean there are other outlets for peoples money. You could get to Vegas for the sums involved going to an event, and have change for hookers (smelly ones, but klunge nonetheless).

that's what I've also heard. so attending the meeting should really help with a lot of this year's issues. and hey, this years issues were really minor compared to the last 5 years. :)

mario, why are you asking for someone from the MS to attend this discussion? for what reason? if I were the MS I would never attend to any forum discussion. you will always loose. too many people, too many opinions, too less background knowledge by most of the attendees...

it seems to me that the team-base could be analysed, the 5 best supported countries identified (number of participating teams) and those should be the 5 venues for the season. Thats the best thing for the vendors, and, I would have thought - attendance for the MS.

How many teams does Turkey enter into the series?
Depends on whether you're thinking short or long term.

In the series I happen to run, I can develop regions simply by putting the national champs there for a year or two. So if you assume people already have to travel, you develop more teams long-term by having events in underdeveloped areas.

I was amused by the complaint of a 4.5 hour flight. Didn't realize Europe was so tiny. (4.5 hours is east coast to west coast in the US.)

You know it will be a controversy and some teams will be pissed off. So you wait until every CPL/SPL/DIV 1 teams paid the registration fees for the whole season and at least two scoring events so teams that find themselves in a good position to be promoted next season are forced to come.
Right, because no paintball league has EVER waited until mid-season to confirm the location of their final event.

I think you are giving way too much credit by insinuating that the league had the foresight, skill, and ability to execute such a plan.

My advice: It's a holiday location. Visit a travel agent or an airline website and I bet you can get a very, very good deal on a package that includes airfare, hotel and possibly car. I know in the US you save tons of money that way (to the point that the package vacation can actually cost less than the airfare separately)
