Strange... Here in Holland we get bombarded with incredibly cheap, all-in holiday offers in and around Antalya. Consequently it's a very popular holiday destination in Holland.

Antalya is kind of cheap Holiday destination that's true. In my opinion the key work is "Holiday". I'm going to play paintball, I don't care if there are a lot of nice visiting places, swimming pool and beautiful beach in the event location. I'll spend my days playing, coaching my friends, watching my opponents and joking around with people. At best I'll use swimming pool and stuff late in the afternoon. All I want from a Millenium event is an acceptable weather, a soft playing field and a bath tube in my room.
That is what I’m paying for. I don’t want to pay a lot more for a package “Paintball and Holidays” as I can’t do both.

I still find it unbelievable that something that considers itself a major player can't confirm the location of an event until three months before the event is supposed to take place.

My 2Cents:

You know it will be a controversy and some teams will be pissed off. So you wait until every CPL/SPL/DIV 1 teams paid the registration fees for the whole season and at least two scoring events so teams that find themselves in a good position to be promoted next season are forced to come.

Handan, I don't want to be rude, but I'm pointing at the Moon and you're staring at my finger there.

I'll love to see how the american paintball community would react if the PSP World Cup was held in Uruguay this year.

And what about a PAL Series event in Stockholm for a change?

Bah, I'm french so I must be a stupid whiner.

If the costs would acutelly be lower, the price of staying there lower. The food cheaper and better weather. And flight time not longer I think most would think its a great idea.

Right now flights and 4 star hotel cost from Stockholm 4100:- sek to Antalya.
Flights to Toulose is 4500:-sek ( and its high season now ). Adding hotel cost and the fact that drinks and food is aprox 4 times as expensive in Toulouse than Turkey the entire argument of Antalya being more expensive is not only wrong but actuelle the complete opposite to the truth.

If its the fact that the "european" series isnt held in a place in actuell mainland Europe, well who cares?

1) Oh, I fully agree with the things you want from a site, but having done some quick research, for me it would be cheaper to get an all-in week booked in Turkey, including flights, than it would be to book the same time and number of flights and hotelrooms in the UK. That was my whole point, nothing good or bad about the site.
I can imagine that similar packages might be more expensive from the UK, as it's further away, plus I think that Turkey might not be as popular in the UK as it is in Holland. From what I understand we have a relatively larger Turkish community in Holland than the UK does, so that might explain the difference in popularity of Turkey as a destination. After all, how many Brits do you know that go to Suriname or Curacao?

Im sure it will be great and I welcome the Millennium that they have the guts to try something else. Millennium events should all be special and in great locations. To both spread the sport and make the series a special happening.

Yes sure it would be cheaper to have all the events in Germany but how fun is that? Even cheaper would be to stay home.

Magued, You SHOULD stay at home - and do the Stockholm event again!!!

I admit that for some teams almost every Millenium event location are expensive. So Antalya sounds like a fine new place to go.

I'm not saying I want event to be held in Toulouse (last one was a failure in my opinion), not even in France. I just don't understand why do we need to go this far away, and bring some controversy, when we have some destination fit to welcome the Millenium in Portugual, Spain, Austria, Belgium or Netherland. Or at least don't announce it three month before. Antalya could be a great idea...for next season when every teams know what they are signing in and have time to prepare and gather money.

I'm a bit narrow minded that's true and I don't have all the data. I'm just arguing against the whole picture.

Buddha I can't say for UK, as I live in Toulouse (France), but a all-in week or a four days booked in Antalya (including flight) cost me three times more than a four days booked in Basildon (including flight).

No one has mentioned the backing that the millennium series is receiving from the Turkish government. I heard this from a very reliable source (cliche, i know) but i have not heard anything since. Would the Millennium series really choose to **** all its teams over if they could save a bit of dough ??? ;)
