seriously though
i propose

starting in 2005 all padding worn by players must be capped in hard plastic.

JT, Dye, Empire, DXS, get on board! Players will have to buy new pads, and you'll make money

Millennium Series, get on board. You'll do something good for the development of the sport. Soft padding is bad for paintball, hard padding means the player has to make a decision, protection vs bounce factor!

After all this discussion and repeated queries regarding proper clothing, padding and protective gear an ad hoc meeting of Movers and Shakers took place last night. The result of that meeting is a required type of uniform for major league paintball (Millennium, NPPL, PSP and all X Ball) beginning 1 July 2004. Note that any color is allowed as long as it is white.

Notice that this elegant solution to the problems brought forth on this thread covers all the bases: paintballs easily break, the body is more than adequately protected, the cranium has more than sufficient protection and a heating/ventilation/cooling system is integrated based on a design introduced by Russian Legion a few years ago.

Cost: only €3000. E-mail me to place your order or inquire about sponsorship.

No Agge, this is DEAD SERIOUS.

PS to my last post: An infrared humanoid detection system can be included with the above battle dress system for only an additional €7000. The high-speed alert system will actually swing your arms around in the event of a mugging from behind. (Please thank the test pilots who used the first prototypes and are now in traction at hospital.)

Damn! Things never can be simple! Because of lobbying and pressure from a major industry sponsor the Committee for Reasonable Rules Interpretation and Enforcement in Paintball (CRRIEP) have decided to also allow the following design:

8th post from the top.

I've said before, if players want protection, they should have to use padding that has a plastic cap. This way there is no advantage given to having padding on your forarm or anywhere else. I think everyone could live with that.

12th post from the top.

BUT - I would suggest the various rules committees decided, that from the start of the 2004 season, all protective gear had to be capped by hard plastic, to avoid bounces.
what comes first, 8 or 12? (and you post is dated a day later too.)
sorry nick. ;)

regardless, it's a good idea.
Really we should be making a list of changes that we'd like to see implemented in 2005. Hey, we could get the EPA to lobby for this, are these guys still around?
