In a perfect world maybe Nick, but what about: players that were guests in Toulouse; players that get dropped from their team; players that cannot commit to the training a Div 1, or SPL team demands and wants to play a lower division or with a team that doesn't demand so much training; a player that looses his job temporarily; or a player that gets sick or injured; and so on.
Same as every other sport - If you get cut, you have to wait for the transfer window to open - if you cannot commit why were you in the team in the first place? - Loosing your job or getting sick doesn't mean you have to change teams, it just means you will not attend and event or two.

Anyway - I completely agree with the rules except for those pertaining to 2nd teams - but in the situation at hand, where the rules have not been made public, they obviously should not apply.

Yet another reason for people to sign up for the IPPU

Kind of sucks beein double punished. First you get cut, maybe even without playing the first event and then you have to stay home for the last 4 events....

If this reserve/second team didn't play the MS it's a non issue, just as Man U's reserves don't play in the division below Man U, they play outside of the Premiership competition altogether. That's how football and all other sports (i can think of) works, second teams play in different competitions.

So if you really want the same thing in paintball, ban ALL sister teams, if you want two teams then one plays you home series (Nordic/Centurio etc) and the other the MS. Then you can "transfer" your players to your heart content and it'll be just like football, plus you get all the benefits of second teams.
Actually, it varies from country to country - in Denmark for instance, 2nd teams for football clubs play in a lower division in the same league, but cannot advance - and what would be the problem with that happening in paintball?

If there IS a problem with that being allowed, please point it out to me, and I will wholeheartedly support 2nd teams not being allowed in the MS at all.... and being restricted to other leagues.

I believe you are wrong Nick.

Second teams can advance, but not to the same division as the "mother" team. If you have a team in the Danish premier league and the second team is at level 3 or 4 they can acvance up to lever 2 or 1. Am I right? Works this way in Norway atleast...

Exactly

We are using other sports as an example, because there is no reason for our sport to re-invent the wheel, when other teams sports have already been through it all :)
