There´s lots of talk about how the season 2005 will look for the Euros;

7-man only?
X-ball only?
7-man and X-ball mixed?

There´s rumours about the NPPL moving into Europe and possibly have three legs, Toulouse, Joy and Campaign. What would happen to the rest of the Millennium legs? Where would all the Euro teams that have not qualified for the NPPL play?

So what do you all think the paintball scene will look like in Europe next year? How do ya all want it to look?

Why cant they play in the NPPL Europe events, If they happen?

I would like to see a pro v pro 'superleague' happen, with the top 18 pro teams playing each other, and the other divisions playing themselves only. So no out of division play. Teams need to stop thinking that they get better by getting smashed in 30 seconds by another team, or by smashing a team up in 30 seconds. If the divisions were locked, and all teams played each other as a proper league system, then the teams that win at the end of the year, wil have thoroughly deserved it, and would subsequently be promoted.

But that sounds far too organised for paintball.......;)

Division 1 and below, that's where they belong (with maybe 1 or 2 exceptions, we'll see). And this in NPPL ofcourse.

No idea, but I hope it will be clear sooner than two weeks before the first event!

7-man will be played, that's for sure. But what will happen to X-ball in Europe? EXL and Open X were not a stellar success. We'll have to wait and see what happens in usa after ESPN shows. This will have a direct impact to Europe. I hope X-ball survives!

Even if it does, which is a big IF, i doubt the Legion will be looking to play EXL next year, what would be the point? They learn nothing from hammering all the euro teams by 15 points a game. Look at what they have been doing to Joy all year! And Joy are an awesome team.

Another issue, even if there was Xball next year, i doubt Joy would play, i doubt Nexus would play.

NPPL is where its at at the moment. Teams like Dux, Ignition and any other Euro teams that dont make it next year will have some serious problems.

Why would Campaign not be one of them?

And, whats a dodo  :D

sjt19, to answer your question of course Millennium teams can play in the NPPL if it drifts into Europe. But maybee what I was thinking was that the NPPL have always been an American series with the qualification this year for Pro happening in America, which means that many top Euro teams have not had any possibilities (moneywhise) to qualify. And if the NPPL move into Europe and sort of "steal the Pro division" those teams will be forced to leave the level they have always played in (pro) and play a lower ranked level.

Maybe thats where they belong?

Its time to stop allowing teams to self declare stauts. Am, pro status needs to be earned. Otherwise whats the point of having it.

if anyone can declare themselves pro then it devalues the whole deal

Agree!
I can´t see Pure P merging with the Millennium and letting the Milllennium people do the NPPL´s in Europe, I mean why would they? The NPPL is the best run and promoted series in the world, why would they let the control go to other people?

True!
If the purpose of the NPPL (which I think it is) is to create a world series then of course the top teams only should play in the pro section. What I mean though is that it would probably be tough for some Pro teams being forced into playing Div 1. But hey, that´s life! And as Rodney from Dynasty have pointed out, the Div 1 will not be Div 1, it will be some sort of Semi Pro with Entourage and all the NXL teams playing in it so I guess it will not be so bad playing in that div either.
