Missy, would be kinda nice hearing from you in this thread and seeing what you think we could to do in terms of persuading the Millennium guys to listen..well they may listen but they ain't acting upon any of it.
Well, seeing as you asked.
I say get them all in a room, and start from absolute scratch. Congratulate everyone on what they have done so far, and ask who still wants to be involved. If they don't want in, they get to walk away with all honors.
What is needed is some kind of competitive ego-war to re-light the fires in the Euro industry. This means you have to scrap the MS altogether, and revert to 5 independant events in a 'European Tour'. each being independantly owned and run by people who will not wish to be out-done. You can then ask the PSP to put their 5th NXL event in the UK. They will likely drop to 4 in the US (unless Bruce & Scotts talks bore fruit in Orlando) and you would essentially be asking the NXL pro teams and thier sponsors to substitute the 5th event for the 1 European one. You will have to battle to get the event in the UK rather than toulouse, but thats up to the Brit-ballers and industry to find the correct venue.
Then I suggest you hire Ged to do the one big UK event in the Birmingham or Manchester area. Keep it out of the south, simply to make it more affordable.
That will give you one primo event in the UK. The rest of Europe would get behind their own events. Laurent would do a great job in Toulouse, Manfred in Germany. If that means there are only 3 events, then so be it. There are no 'series points or 'standings', all that shxt works out to be bollocks anyway. The independant events are competing with each other for the best event, thats how you will see them improve.
Of course, once you have the best event, you still have the problem of having the least supportive player base in the world. You could have an event full of top US pro's, thats truly mind-blowing, but would any of these brit-punks sack up and pay to play it, or just wheel out the same lame-ass excuses as to why its too expensive, to far away, etc?
Now, you may have trouble getting the MS guys to go dor this, as it would mean a total shift in thinking, but these guys would still need to work together in order to share existing resources, they would just be free of the shackles of their weakest members. The strong ones could see it as an opportunity. The weak ones would truly detest the idea, but in my opinion there is no room for the weak if you want to bring Euro-ball (or Britball) back to former glories
