Fair enough Injuries cannot be helped, as for the rest.........

What?

Ha ha, we can't even get 10-12 guys together for a practice in Ireland!! Never mind on the same roster!!
In that case, if you are running with seven guys, I don't think you'll have too much of an issue here... you should all get game time.

When I said "in theory anyway", I meant that reality will dictate that you will more than likely need to play all seven guys rostered for the match and that's cool because they are the strongest seven your team has available, even if they are the only seven.

I can't see where your worries are here. And, if you don't like the format, play Div 2.

So for current seven man teams, 2 players should, according to your logic, be dropped or made to compete with current team mates for a spot?
Not really dropped but logic dictates that on a 5man field you can not play with 7. So you will have to pick the strongest five for the team to play.

As currently you have a 7man format feeding into a 5man set up leaving you with the following scenario:

7man squad normally has about 10 players which means after promition into the SPL format you got two squads!

Who do you drop...did not all 10 play part in getting into the team? Can you really expect people to just be there to wait for a chance to play?

It should be 5 man accross the board playing the same format!

Did you ever take a look into an x-ball pit? How many people do you see there on average? Would say something like 10... ;):D Someone needs to be there to fill pods, clean players off, repair broken guns and what not... Why do you have 10 people on a 7man team in the first place? Probably, because sometimes someone gets injured, has other commitments to fullfil, can not afford to go to the event and so on, and it's just the same in CPL/SPL.

An other thing: Someone stated Div1 teams usually do not play all the events. If Div1 is turned into something like CPL/SPL, all the teams will have to play all the events or otherwise loose their spot...

Not neccessarily - that's an assumption and I have a suspicion you may be wrong. Div 1 is open and there has been no mention of it being locked.

it comes to the point where you are playing with your mates or you are playing to be the best player and team you can be,
the teams that have worked to get into the spl are about getting as far as they can, I would rather be benched on the team that won then play all the games on the team that got destroyed all event.

we have a strong team and have to fight for our spots, this has started to make the team improve compared to when we had just enough players and people were assured of spots.
if you are arent good enough to be picked what makes you think you should go onto the field for fair game time and waste all the teams money and hold the team back.

spl format would be good through out the divisions, multi point format is more likely to have the best team win
