It would'nt be for the entire match. 7 players, five play each point, you can change the 5 between each pont. You would'nt put another player out, they would have a rest while you played, then they play the next point etc.and how would you feel going up against your current team mates, knowing that either you are going to put them out, or vice versa?
I know this. However Syd's point was that all players should want to play all points. With 7 players from your current Div1 team and 5 places this obviously isn't possible. It would'nt be for the entire match. 7 players, five play each point, you can change the 5 between each pont. That's a bit black and white. You should have ten-twelve guys on your roster. Those playing best at the time should be rostered for the match. Those who aren't playing at their best or who aren't committing, shouldn't be played. Its healthy competition as long as playing ability and commitment are the deciding factors, not politics or who's mates with whom. Its all good for the team and I think its the same in pretty much all sports... the best players get to play.So for current seven man teams, 2 players should, according to your logic, be dropped or made to compete with current team mates for a spot?
Honestly once people start playing they wont want/be able to play every point. There's tiredness, equipment breaking, injuries.....I know this. Ha ha, we can't even get 10-12 guys together for a practice in Ireland!! Never mind on the same roster!!That's a bit black and white. You should have ten-twelve guys on your roster. Read Syd's post again.Honestly once people start playing they wont want/be able to play every point. There's tiredness, equipment breaking, injuries.....
And sometimes you just have to sit people because they are not as good as other players. If players sit, the buck stops with them, they were'nt good enough.
