How about the fact that the money for the ID cards pays for the wages of the guy that does the scheduling. There. Now everyone can stop winging about their cards.

Peace:)

...

Do you know this to be a FACT? Since I as a player have no insight into the Millennium Series finances, the ID card money (they cost less than 1 euro to print) might as well have been invested in timeshares in the Bahamas or something.

So you are telling me that you have something more than somebody saying "uhhh.. the money goes to external costs like scheduling and stuff" to back the fact that the schedule guy gets it all?

If this is indeed true, why didn't the Mill. people say anything about this when the ID cards where discussed here a while ago?

with sammi t on this, had my card checked about three times over the whole event. The one and only time we were checked on field was on field two, the opposing team had a player who wasn't registered to them. Hmmmmm nothing against the team sure that there was no foul play at hand, but surely this should've been picked up sooner in the tourney- like the first time he walked on the field with that team?

Never mind, even with all this i'll be back next year cos it was still the best tourney i've played in the UK :D

Matey, there were only 1200 players there from 150 odd teams at 8 players per squad.

Around 100 of those teams, (probably more) would have played an event in the series before and would not need to but another card. that leaves around 400 players who would have bought cards.

Thats about £8000 ish for wages for lots of people and infrastructural aspects of the event.

The ID cards are vital for keeping track of players and movement, preventing sandbagging and the banning of players. Whats the problem with that?

Frequently people whinge without being in possession of any of the facts about what it is they have a gripe with.

The only "problem" would be the 1900% markup...

If the millennium organisation uses the revenue for it's expenses, doesn't that mean that the promoters need to pay less to the millennium organisation? If so, I would say that the promoters are the beneficiaries.

I think the EPA should take care of the ID cards and ID card revenue.
