Just wondering (not trying to flame or anything) what the money from these cards actually pays for? we already pay an entry fee (fair enough for the quality of the facilities we recieve) but is the id card money for something different or is it a sneaky way of adding to the entry fee?
just wondered thats all

just posted about this somewhere else, they were a waste of money to the player again, as they were used only slightly more than last year and we really might aswell not bother if theyre not gonna be put to good effect. I say keep the FEE, loose the card, and put the cash towards unbiased, impartial pro marshalls for the millenium series. that means marshalls that arent players.

Don't forget about the cards are used at 5 other events, not just campaign.

over the whole millenium series my card was used for:-

1. NOTHING at all in portugal!!

2. it was checked at the door for only the first day in germany and then not used again for the rest of the tournament!

3. In amsterdam i was asked for it ONCE but did not have it on me and i was let in to the player area anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4. sweeden it was checked twice on the field out of the whole tournament!! and nowere else.

5. and at campaign we used them to register the team to marshal. and then i walked freely around the areana (in normal clothes not a ref top) and was not checked!!!

my advise to the millenium board is next year DONT BOTHER with messing around with id cards if your not going to use them! just add the money onto our entry fee!

I think his point was that he paid £20 for a card that expired on the last day of Campaign. He will have to buy a new card for the series next year.

I paid £10 to transfer from one team to another for Campaign.
My card was checked for the first time on the last game by Field 2 judges. They also checked the other team, only to find someone's pass wasn't even registered for the team on the field. he had been playing all day still registered to another team. It makes me wonder why i bothered to transfer - £10 is 4 pints of beer up north!

I mentioned this to Nick on the way home and he said he was checked regularly so maybe its just the lower devisions who aren't checked thoroughly?

I was checked all the time in Germany going into the staging area, a couple of times on field on the Sunday.
At Campaign I was checked almost every time at each field, but not as often at the staging area.
