Thanks to all the MM team for a great day at Ancaster - really enjoyed myself all day!

I would like to say thanks to the Division B teams we played - great games guyz and hope to play you all again in the future!!

Well done to the Clan, great guys and a great field they brought with them as well. :D

If you saw me on that field against Panic Attack (our last game of the day) where we from 5-2 against us, then to 2-1 in our favour, then for me to just stroll down the middle of the field as i thought i was the only one left on the field! Must of looked like a right prat! Oh well - live and learn!

BIG THANKS TO ALL INVOLVED - CHEERS! ;)

A.K.A - Rabbit on speed :p

my only major gripe was that F**KING MUSIC. all F**KING day. how irritating was it? Christ, everyone i asked was irritated as hell. so please, for the love of God dont have it at the next event........

anyway,
big up to Moomin for guestin for us, not really happy with 4th place, as we beat the teams that came 1st 2nd and 3rd, and we seem to have a right monkey on our back over SWAT, we just dont seem to be able to beat those guys......!!!
and some of the marshals on field one needed to wake up, i think they did tho after i had a word with Prof. actually big up to prof, Ive had a go at him a few times on the field and he always handles it dead professionally and doesnt seem to bear a grudge.. cheers mate i owe ya a beer i reckon....!!

Interesting reading so far....
But where do I start.

Firstly, thanks to all the guys who make this possible, Blakey etc etc.... the marshals...ok, a couple of bad calls, but nobody can be right all the time. I think people need to remember this is a GAME...not life or death. Certainly our team play to win, and if we dont...at least we've had a good day out and made some more friends.

Now im a health and safety person, trained in first aid, Health and Safety Management, undertake Risk Assessments etc...
As far as I could see, the Masters are leaving them selves wide open to being sued should anybody become injured. I dont thing it is enough to say that St. Johns were booked but didnt turn up, i'm sure an insurance company would have a field day with that one!!!. In the event that they didnt turn up...who was the appointed first aider? where were the first aid kits? Where were the Accident forms, Where were the risk assessments that should have covered all of this....Boring I know, but legally some body is going way out on a limb.

I think I had already mentioned about putting up "Mask On" signs on the feedback from the last masters, something as simple as doing this could save somebodys eye.

Great that we are trying to make the game better, cutting out the swearing on the fields, but lets get the important legal stuff sorted first.

Im happy to give advice and guidance on this if any body wants it.... Ball is in your court....

i know every one has a right to bitch and moan, about what they feel was wrong and i know for sure that Blakey, phil, les and all the rest of the MM guys put one hell of a lot of effort into these days.

For most players its one day, the MM guys it must be weeks leading up to each event, organising paint, teams, marshals, netting etc. ,then all the grief days before erecting and setting out the fields not to mention all the clearing up they do after.

Problem with paintballers is very short memories, because if you go back a couple of years there was hardly any tournaments of any quality, you struggled to play more than once a month. Now there seem to be more and more springing up each month. Blakey and the guys have set a very high standard for there tournaments which yes there are teething problems but at least he is prepared to listern and try and improve things, how many other organisers do that.

At the end of the day if it was all bad people would vote with there feet, but they dont which means they must be getting most things right.

So from me a round of applause, and a pat on the back to all the MM crew, marshels etc. As long as you keep to your high standards then yopu will have my vote.

steps down from soap box, gets into taxi :D :D

Thanks Guys,

Blakey, one of the team behind the Midlands Masters.
And if The midland masters make known if they find out who did it I promise you now the player will not play any more series 2003 events as well and i expect will not be able to play paintball in the UK again.

And blakey the event was that bad and the marshaling that poor  could you please book in the two inferno teams for your next event on the 11th of may.;)

As anyone who has played more than a couple of our events will know, our feelings towards the safety of all who attend our events is one of the highest importance, St Johns Ambulance have become a regular feature at all of our events, and I was surprised when they did not turn up! We have these guys booked for all of our events.
Risk assessments are a thing that we do undertake, but for how many eventualities, you cannot cover everything, but when a new situation arises, you can rest asured that we put something in place immediately afterwards.
Goggles on signs and tape were erected, but we cannot legislate for the juvenile and irresponsible behaviour of some of the people who attend.
First aiders were present at the event as a number of the marshals are first aid trained.
Feedback is a wonderful tool and we welcome the help of anyone who wishes to donate their time and efforts into improve this series. Both for the players the spectators and the officials.

Keep your points of view comming.

Blakey.

There is no requirement in Law for an event like this to be have External first aid cover and as long as there are first aiders in the management or marshalling crew, they are covered by insurance.
A manned first aid tent should be next on the list and as I said previously MM should get some signs printed that they can take to each event.
