That said I know Blakey and the team take all suggestions on board and this won't happen again.
Field 5 was a goggles only area so I can't really see the problem.
Grat event though - loads of fun
That being the case then the alternative is to set up the fields so that they are side on to the non playing area as opposed to end on as they were on Sunday.

How can an open field be a goggles only area?
No warning signs or anything.
Think about it, you play 2 games on fields 1 and 3, and your girl and kid comes to watch you. No goggles required.
You go out to play on field 2 or 4 and at the designated time they walk round to watch you. How do they know that its goggles only. Other spectators are watching the current games being played, not someone walking behind them. We are talking safety here, even players leaving the arena had to be reminded that there was an open field next door.
You seem to forget that if a player gets hurt playing then it's a sporting injury, and we are responsible for our own safety.
If a spectator walked up to fields 4 or 5 during game on and was hit by a stray paint ball from field 5, take my word for it Midlands Masters would have trouble explaining why there were no signs & no netting.
We all have to abide by the laws of the HSE and we have ensure not only the safety of players but that of the spectators.
I've heard loads of talk about making the sports accessable to non playing spectator and then we go and prevent them from watching 3 out of the 5 fields for the sake of cost of some posts and netting.

great day

Marshalls on field 3 (apart from andy + preston) needed a good kick up the arse to check people (my voice has gone from so much screaming and shouting from one game) and or a new pair of varifocals

A certain incident with a certain div b team (on field 3)... you know who you are, you know what you did, i know what you did and i wont forget it.

Great day for RDX we did crap on the day but we are a brand new team 4 of our team 1st torny, since last year, hope they all enjoyed it. we was watching nitro on field 4 as we were next on, Preston and andy good calls and they are experienced marshalls, but power happy not checking and even blatentley leaving players in when they knew they were out but **** happens , as it did on field 4 a few times. we marshall events and marshalls must remember these people are paying customers, 99% walk when hit play the games to the rules. every one is happy .

Otherwise a good day . thanks blakey h pac every one behind the scenes oh severe and mark baker, weather was great see ya all at the next one .

not sure who he was but as he ran for the flag
he slipped. then got up again...sliped and his mask fell off
and some one 10 feet away shot him in the eye
and he was out cold...
Apparently he got shot first close to or on the goggs and got some spray in his eye. This disorientated him and he then tripped and fell banging his head.
Last I heard he had fully recovered, except for a bit of red eye.
so did the guy who had the multiple fits
Note a shot from 40ft in the eye will blind you never mind 10ft.

Apparently St Johns were supposed to be there and neglected to show.

Praise is due to the marshals, etc who provided prompt and efficient first aid in both cases. You should all be very proud

hey yo

the tourney was good , however there was alot issuses with the standard of marshalling . The incident walker s refering too happend on field 3 the standard of many marshalls wasnt up to scratch.

when asking for a check and reasons for not checking him were comments such as " hes not in my part of the field" he didnt even get another marshal to check the player which is not acceptable when customers( the players) are paying money to play these events . Its expected that the marshallls employed should do there job in a proffesional manner :(

its a shame that bad marshalling spoiled an otherwise great event

So is the solution to come on here and bitch about it? If you have problems with the marshalling, then speak to the organiser- what does it achieve mouthing off on here?
