Or, of you dare to butt heads with the big brained people of this forum, put something up in the Brain Box.Feel free to start all the threads you like on the sudan, or the palestinian plight between the hours of 6pm friday evening, and monday morning.
It's an interesting argument, John. The process you describe led to the current government.....the government which now has a Stalinesque grip on the country, control over all media and all freedoms. Your solution is to use that exact same method again to find another government? I dunno, the fact that people get shot in the face on peaceful protests, and beaten by extremist elements (who support the current regime and pretty much get a free pass at this) doesn’t lead me to the conclusion that the "overthrow the government with force" approach worked out great for everybody in the end. We'll have to agree to disagree on that. You are absolutely right that the current situation sucks in the UK, but the Iranians are hardly a model for success - the people have little chance of another uprising because this is a different government, supported by brutal fundamentalists.Iran overthrew their last government, they know they can do it again.
They still beleive that enough ordinary people can make a difference.
An ideal that was snubbed out over here years ago.
So while they dont have democracy. Id say they are capable of a much superior form than ours.
Also In some places over 100% of the eligable voters turned out to vote.
If thats not a shining beacon of democracy I dont know what is..
Yeah hes as innnocent as OJ simpson.
If you dont count all the times he settled out of court.
Might have something to do with JB not being relevant in contemporary pop culture anymore. The man was old...Come to think of it I suppose it does, yes.
Like I said, I don't claim to be an authority.
Did JB get overrated when he died though?
I seem to remember he went out relatively quietly, except for reports of his aggression towards women.
