On the reffing

Did anyone see a 1-4-1 get pulled?

It seemed to me like the 1-4-1 rule disappeared yesterday, depsite the fact that I saw over a dozen instances where the refs saw blatant playing on with obvious hits (and I'm not talking run-thrus, I mean players in bunkers taking hits, flinching, then carrying on firing like nowt had happened)and went in to pull the players in question, yet never 1-4-1'd them.

shooter should have kept on him then......tho i think most marshalls would have pulled him out as he has moved to call himself and stop the opponent fireing

I was't there, Twisted were busy ripping up division A @ Sk3. :)

2 sets of marshalls would be lovely, but thats double the hassle for the event organiser, hard enough finding enough marshalls as it is let alone 2 sets per field. Also with british weather the way it is, could of been raining in the afternoon! :D :D

Martin got a 141 in the last game, i think he bonus balled a player from Tsunami who had been shot and was screaming obsenities after he had been mugged out.

THANKS FOR THE GREAT ATTITUDE LADS.

Right then, I'll put my 5 pennies worth in.

I was marshalling on field 2, at the end nearest the entrance to the field.

Now this was the 2nd tournie I have marshalled and fair enough I am not greatly experianced but I do have a bit of common sense.

As far as I know I made no dodgy calls, If a player needed to be checked I was there, and pulled them if it required it.

but give us some credit please, we were there from 7:30 sorting things out and I didn't get home till gone 22:00 and I live 25 miles away.

We spent all day in the bloody hot sun, in trousers and tops, we had no shade and no chance to cool down at all during the day (unlike the players who could sit in the shade and chill out) but we still did well considering the conditions of the day, yeah the heat took it out of us towards the end of the day but what do you expect??????

Sorry if you lot feel that the marshalling was bad or **** depending on your respect for others, but as far as I am concerned I/we did our best with the conditions.

Hopefully next time the weather might be a little forgiving and give us a cloudy day with a nice breeze but I am not god so we shall have to see.

may be??????????????

a start may be getting the same rules run on all the fields.
not one set of rules for one field and then a different set for the next field then another set for the next then low and behold another for the next (i havent marshaled a torni before and to be honest i dont want to after what i have seen and heard ) i brought a marshall to this torni she had never marshalled a torni before, so on the friday before, on sparklies advice,i printed off the m25 rules for her, she red these cover to cover, we chatted about the rules for the next two days as she endevered to understand them, by the time she got to cobham she new these rule by heart, good skills i say , but yet at the end of the day she then asked me " why were rules that ran the fields different and why were dicitions made or ignord, that were not in the rules??? how could i answer that, and how can we get new marshal's of good quality if you cant run the rules the way the organiser stipulates.
you could say
why study quantom physics
if you want to be a cook

i had a good day i had had no probs with any of the marshals really, and i to, think sparklie has done a great job for british paintball (no more playing in muddy sespools with stinking chemi toilets now its changing rooms showers, flushing toilets, perfect fields green green mowed grass and a bar ,luxuary !!!!!
she is on only in her first year so i think lets stick with it
all the best

Campaign aka me home
in the rules does it say you have to have 30 seconds then 10 and then game one because i think that sparklie should tell all the marshalls how the games should start. the break outs were different on all the fields:confused:

I do not want to get into any slanging match but would like to set this record straight:

The player in question was me, i was not shot by Martin, I DID NOT SHOUT ANY OBSENITIES, Martin had already been shot by my player but Martin illegally shot me after his armband had been removed, after he THOUGHT he heard me shouting at him I SIMPLY WAS NOT

I would like to point out there were several witnesses including two marshalls on me who pointed out that they did not hear me swearing furthermore the ultimate was warning teams that bad language would not be tolorated

i would also like to add i am contractually oblidged not to use foul and abusive language by my team sponsor

i hope this has cleared up this very regretable and ugly incident

M25 Great Venue Great Event

Hey Guy's I have just read through a thread where people are arguing about the marshaling etc etc. Everyone seems to be missing the point that this was a really good event.

The venue was brilliant, eveything was well organised, there was a full cafeteria on site, there was a bar on site, the fields were well netted, the air was excellent, the fields were well laid out, there was good trade support, the playing surface was fantastic, the chrono station was well located, there were plenty of chrono's, there was plenty of carparking, the local press turned up AND IT WAS 30 DEGREES.

Well done Sparklie!!!!

This was a real landmark event.
