if we are talking about the movable tower, then yes we did stand there, because if you guys are dumb enough to lay a modular tower that wasnt locked together ,on its side ,while standing under it and putting yourselves in danger, please do not expect others to be as foolish as you were,if health and safety had seen you doing that ,they would have blown a fuse.
I am sorry i will not put myself at risk of injury for no one and if you wish to take risks with your safty then thats your choice, but please do not come onto a public forum and moan about somthing with out giving all the facts.
and as i have already said ,we were not asked ,we offered to set up the field .still next time i myself will know better than to even think about helping out .

mate, im not talking about the tower, as we already had quite a few people doing that, but an obvious thing, like rushing to the scaffolding to make sure it doesnt fall down after having a bloody huge bunker hitting it is common sense and common curtesy, the event was nearly cancelled due to the fact that the scaffolding was almost classed as unsafe, and safe to say, we all watched it all day to make sure that it was kept safe so no one would be hurt. do you know how heavy a scaffolding pole becomes when a whole side of high density netting is being blown by the wind, it lifted me and baz up and we prob have a combined weight of at least 25 stone.

cockersrule,
you are out of order there mate, I wasnt there this weekend,

BUT,
1) Players arent there to help set up or run the event, any assistance is nice but not to be expected as people are often keen to point out the players are customers.

2) Every M25 that storm have played to date the players that got there early on saturday have helped set up the field etc.

Mate, I was with the Storm AMs at Uttoxeter this weekend rather than the M25, I feel slightly affronted that you have singled out Storm in your criticism. At every M25 event we have attended, we have turned up on Saturday afternoon to walk the fields, found virtually nothing ready, and to a man we have set about carrying sandbags, designing fields, setting up and inflating bunkers, clearing up mess and generally trying to be as helpful as we possibly can, without grumbling or criticising the organisation. At more than one occasion while Storm players have been out sweating over the fields, there have been notable teams and players standing by sipping nice cool pints of beer. None of whom I have named on a public forum. While I can't attest to the situation you mention, this sort of idle criticism can tarnish a team's image, and I don't think it's an image that's warranted in the case of Storm.

Also, am I not the only one to realise that if the players are having to endanger themselves and deal with unstable scaffolding, then surely there is something inherently wrong with the logistics of the event?

M25 unsafe scafolding

Cockersrule Why dont you try slaging off your sponsor for puting up unsafe scafolding its not up to the teams to fight with scafolding and maybe pick up an injury i was there on saturday and saw the storm guys helping put up a field when they did not have to where were you.
if you had asked me to fight with scafolding while the wind was blowing i would have told you bolocks, would you feed my family if i ended up with a scafold pole across my head no proberly not so dont knock people for not having your stupidity.knock the oraganisers for running an event with unsafe equipment.

ok i am not trying to start anything but first off we were there to walk the fields not set them up or stop the netting from coming down you guys get paid to do all that we dont. if i am at work and somthing goes t**s up and i need help no one will help me unless they are on payroll and also mr cockersrule sparkile said you are in danger go away or something along thoses lines. so we went and set up one of the fields ok so we did not help that way but then we could not of done anything you guys had it sorted buy then. also had we help and we had got hurt would we have been covered no i dont think so and i know i cant afford to be off work. again you lot get paid and had there been a big prob of course we would of jumped in like i said before you guys had it sorted. so why do you feel you have to bad mouth us i have only just got back into paintball after a few years out but now i am thincking f**k it and get out again.
i am sorry you feel this way mate and i think you should of got in touch with a storm rep first before posting what you have.
when i go to a football match i dont expect to have to put the nets on the goals and do the lines on the field.we pay money to play tourneys and when pepps do help out to set them up and are not getting paid for it they are not doing it for fun they are doing it for the love of there sport we helped out and got no thanks did you see anyone from the team post that up NO! if you want to keep posting things like this you will find pepps will soon not help and then you will be up a creek without a paddle
these views are my own and in no way reflect the feelings of my team also sorry about spelling it late thats all i can say
:D

if i arrive at any paintball event and find something i can do to help out so it runs ok and gets set up, i will help.
football cannont be compared to this, they have 100's of people setting events with a helluva lot more money going into wages, whereas we have 8 people setting this up, the scaffolding cannot possibly be blamed on sparklie, as she used these scaffolers last leg and the netting was, with the lack of a better word, perfect!
i have now been asked to stop by some witnesses, as its pointless arguing cos obviously u will defend yourselves etc..... who is the main spokesperson for storm rookies? i have a bone to pick with them:)

so if you were at another site and things went wrong and you got hurt you would be fine with that you would not blame any one and when you could not pay the bills because you cant work thats ok is it and also lower division fotball dose not have any money in it but they still manage to get things done for kick off
also its not pointless because we are not arguing we are telling our side thats all and i dont feel i need to defend myself if i had to make the same choice again i would do the same thing as some one else who posted about this said would you feed my family if i ended up with a scafold pole across my head

Who is to blame then

Thats total crap the organiser of the event is to blame for anything that goes wrong reagrding safety if the scafolders are sub standard then dont use them but at the end of the day your sponsor is responsable for the tourney as its them that take the money is it not. If not who is responable where does the buck stop if somone gets injured who is at fault acording to you its the teams that are not stupid enough to try to tackle scafolding whist the wind is blowing .
