Searching for the pro-tour....:S
Well we all had a great day today, great marshalling. good schedule, no standing around.

OK so the netting wasn't perfect but what would you honestly prefer, the odd hole or Sparklie calling off the tourney as she nearly had too?

Big thankyou to Sparklie, Liz and all the marshalls for running themselves ragged just so we can play ball! :)

See you all at the next one!

One very tired Smally...

... having spent the last three days wrestling with the scaffolding and netting, then to see the giant temple nearly rip it all down... damn that was fun for a while.

On the whole the event was great, the Freaks played their asses off and I'm very proud of them... thanks to all the other teams in our division for making it such a great day.

This being the first time I've set up the site pretty much from start to finish I now realise just how much work everyone puts in... its people like Sparklie, Jiggy, Baz, Liz, and Golden Balls :p who manage to work their asses off to give us a pretty damn good tourney.

The holes in the netting were caused by the wind, as LJ says we went round the outside numerous times patching up the holes and they just kept appearing... we did our best... :)

Guys you all did a cracking job - here's to the last one of the season followed by one pig P*SS up shortly after :D

After todays event I think we should all agree that the M25 has come on leaps and bounds in its first year making for a great event to look forward to next year.

Keep up the good work...

On the netting, Most of the shots I sore come over we're deflections off of baracades and I've never been to a tournie yet thats solved that !!!! I did't experiance any dirrect shot problems but I can understand how it could happen............theres too many S**t shots out there :) Could be improved but how much extra cost for minimal benafit ?

Field size.....the only game I got took on the break was on the diablo field (Dam you DR) and I broke to the 40 / 50 on most fields ! I think it is great training for those two astro fields at Campaign in the main stadium !!!!!!!!!!!! Small yes, but not stupidly so !

Over all an excellent day and bar the computer glitch the best yet by far !

man, if only everyone saw the big temple go into the netting we had been putting up for the last 3 days in the boiling heat, watching it knock a whole side down, and for us to have to make it stay, and for Storm, just to stand on the field, doing F*** all to help except watch as 8 people attempt to hold a whole side of netting up, thanks alot guys:mad:

the only thing that could be done is to have a roof of netting, but this would double/triple the cost of netting, and would make the sail that the netting already creates, 3 times the size, and the scaffolding only just held, so it cant be done really

now let me get this strait-storm just stood there ????
thats bo***ks and you know it 1/the tower went down when we were not even on site, ask sparklie .
2/who set up the r.p.s field the bloody fairies ?? no it was storm,we did it with out prompting coz we wanted to help,if you dont believe that ask liz she was on the field with us for a portion of the time .
yes ok there were probs with the netting and while we were setting the field up the crew were sorting it .
personally i think your out of order ,and mis-informed.
still maybe we will just stand around next time and watch the set up crew do the fields, the netting ,and then complain that we arrived to walk some fields and they were not even set up,your choice.
i will add that these views are my own and in no way reflect the feelings of my team, most of which will not have read your comments.

so my eyes mis informed me did they???

i was holding some scaffolding up, waiting for the others to get the tower so we could secure it, and storm WERE there, waiting to walk fields, and we secured the scaffolding, whilst all of us were cursing at storm. then yes, you were asked to help set up the rps field, as not many of the fields were even close to being set up due to events earlier in the day, delaying the site building.
so actually, the netting went down, then after it wad fixed you started building the field. i vividly remember you guys watching, then as the tower was put back up next to the scaffolding, you moved and we thought u were gonna help but u just moved closet to watch, and liz was actually with us and even said, " i wish they would help as we could use some strapping strong men" or sumthing along those lines....i have at least 8 witnesses:)

Which you can't do anyway - cos anyone that sets up the fields or gets there a day before will work out every angle required to bounce off the roof down behind every baricade - a la European Indoor :(
