Thanks to Sparklie, Liz, all the marshalls and the brigade of little helpers for pulling the whole event together (and cleaning up afterwards - I hope there wasn't too much mess! :D )

For all those who chose not to attend, I must say all the gripes and hitches of the first leg seem to have been sorted out. The staging marquee was ample, the netting was good (no more spectators getting covered in spray) and Liz' use of the PA system to whip the teams into line and give everyone good notice of their next games was spot on. Yes, the schedule ran behind (mainly just due to a slightly late start, but apparently also due to the caterers screwing up the marshalls' lunches), but nobody ever expects tournaments to run on time, and as long as everyone knew when they were supposed to be out there everyone was happy. Marshalling was overall excellent (leaving aside the one disagreement we had on field 2, which I won't go into.) The marshalls were active and efficient, and did a great job of enforcing calls without causing disruption to the games (I think someone was moaning at the first leg about there being too many neutral calls.)

Congratulations to all the winning teams, and look forward to seeing you all at the next leg!

M25 Thanks

Thanks to all the teams in the Pro division for a great day.

I was playing in Storm 2 after a five year layoff from Paintball, and due to a comedy of errors, despite half our team never having met each other (let alone playing with each other), we ended up in the Pro division

Still, it was a learning experience, with very few exceptions the play was fair, the teams were approachable and friendly, and the setup and organisation top notch.

And most of all I'd like to thank my teammates, Tom, Julian, Tony, Simon, Urko, and Greg- we kept each other's spirits up despite the odds, and while we didn't win a game (we got close), I'd like to think we played hard and fair, and we took it to them at every opportunity.

Cheers lads.

Had a great time playing in Division 1

Played back left for Storm 2 and loved it.

Usually play for the novice but wow was it great playing against those teams .... what a buzz... fast and intense .... did I get targetted or what! Last one in for my team in a couple of games knowing that I was about to get it....... cool. Didn't go down without a fight (well a little one anyway!)

Shot about 4000 balls but you guys are tooooo tight, either that or I can't hit sh*t

It was an education....

Cheers guys.

Have to agree Marshalling was really good.

Rabies if the dodgy decision was against Skulls sorry bud. We did wonder why you were waiting. Next time just stay there and don't break out say to a marshall you did not hear the whistle. They will pull us back and start again. Starting late could be a tactic. Hope there are no hard feelings and look forward to our next encounter.

:D

Thanks to everyone again Sparklie, Liz, Marshalls, And all the little people (they were there i tell you...;) )

Look forward to seeing the final scores. We were a bit confused by the final result but what the heck it was fun.

Thanks to the skulls for letting me come back and play with you guys after my 18 months off and I look forward to getting out more and playing again.

Storm 2 it was fun talking to you just before your last game. It was an interesting day for you guys. Nice bunch of lads and good luck for the next tourney.

See you all soon

Tom

That was the one :D Certainly none of us hold it against you, it's just a pity we didn't get to play that game we'd wanted against you. Just have to chalk that one up to experience. You guys played well though, I'm looking forward to having another go at the next leg ;)

I want to see the final scoresheets though, it sounds like apart from the top couple of places the rest of Div 4 must have been pretty close.

The wonderful Trevor let us use his laptop for the scores etc. Unfortunately he needs it for a meeting in Leeds today so we won't have access to the spreadsheet until this evening at the latest, as he won't have access to a network for mailing it until he gets home tonight.:(
I promise I'll post up the final results including scores as soon as I get them.

[Oscar Acceptance speech mode] I'd like to thank all the Teams that voted me 'Marshal of the Day' *sniffs* It was down to you guys being so good and not having naughty things going on with your Markers that made it possible for me to do my job[/Oscar Acceptance speech mode]

On a serious note - Team Monkey Love would like to thank all the Teams - you guys were (mostly;) ) well behaved and made our jobs that little bit easier!

Oh yeah, and we're playing the rest of the series, so we get to shoot back now:D
