we used to have the NPPS 10 man league(2 day event) a seven and a five man league so it has been done before.

7-man is the way to go, without a doubt.

british players need to compete at the highest level again and that means 2 day events so the europeans can come over.

if all the tourney organisers were to put 1 or maybe 2 (2 day events on) we would be laughing, midland masters, bully, syd swpl, sparklie and clive that would be 10 events, or if we start the npps again the yanks do it so why the hell cant we.

get the euros over here for christs sake if ya want to compete at the milleniums

5 vs 7 man

Its gotta be 7 man all the way.

At the end of the day all i want to do with my team is compete at a competant level in the Millennium series and that means 7 man.

Any new teams at the 5 man level should turn up and hope to "nick players" on the day or post up on here for people a couple of days prior. If there serious about playing they'll want to play 7 mans anyway.

Cheers

Hi every one thank you all for taking the time to air your veiws

My orrigional thoughts were mabey 5 man for novice and entry but most of the novice teams have said they would rather 7 man too.

If it was a problem of finding players rember I also run the accdemy we have lots of talented younger player team less player and player returning after time out. most of which would be only to happy to scratch for teams who find them selfs short.

I would like to thank every one for their support so far I am going to be a little busy over the next week or two but am really looking forward to reading your thoughts.

I have been really encouraged with the support and help I have been offered so far.

sparklie off on a mission ;)

Of the 3 series currently running, MM is 5 man, SWPL is 5 man & 2k2 is 5, 6 or 7 man. This means for the southern based players there are no 7 man tourneys at all. I think there are enough teams out there these days that there is room for different series that offer both formats.
Those teams based in the south that want to play 5 man only can play MM, those who want to play 7 man could play the M25 & those who want to play both, could play both or alternate months in different series.
Of course, I remember the days when tourneys went down from 15 man teams to 12 or 10 & there was a thriving South East league for 10 man teams but I do recognise that times change!
