Life Expectancy--

Baca Loco

Ex-Fun Police
--of your paintball team.

Ever notice how many posters have their team name somewhere in their forum identity? The Mods get regular requests for name changes that many times are about changing from or to something to do with a team name. And if you've been keeping up teams come and go all the time.

So, what's the life expectancy of the average paintball team?

And how long does the average player last on one team?

Started with Red Heat in 2003; my first team who brought me into sup-air.
They're still running (...well albeit a lot of changes. Red Heat---->Aftermath); I left after 3 yrs 'cause I wanted a change :D

Have been with Sabre since Jan 06 & all seems well so far?

Baca, i'm still with my first team and have worked my way up through the second team to the first team of which i am now captain. Since becoming captain we have moved up from king of the hill and are now in div c.

We have a good buch of guys on ni ban and all get on well. Only 2 guys have dropped from the team but mainly due to money issues, but still train with us and are welcome back any time.

Would i consider moving? only if needs (ie relocation through work) dictated the move and then I hope they would still have be back to play on the squad from time to time.

is that better for you?

I think it mainly comes down to how much sponsorship a team has (or how much they can get).

Any non-sponsored team usually doesn't last long - as the members start to realise that it is costing them a lot more to play for team 'a' than it would if they were to move to team 'k' for example.

Also, most teams are made up of 'mates' - and mates tend to fall out.

I'd say most in the UK manage about 3 seasons/years.
Ive never managed more than a season if that. I tell people what they dont want to hear and as such usually im asked to leave. Pity people cant handle the truth sometimes...

There's only one team i ever fitted in with and they all ****ed off out of paintball.
