Hey, all I can say is for close to $2,000 a team per tournament is it too much to ask to not go sliding into cow droppings like at World Cup?

I really don't want to get into this argument (though I prolly already am) but for $2,000 an event (not even including paint) I really feel cheated. Has anyone here ever seen the expences for the PSP? I had the opertunity to a couple of years back when they ruling bodies decided to make it general knowledge...they had $75,000 going to a fund of "Misc". Yeah, I can see some extra money being set aside for unforseen problems, but $75k?

At least with-in the NCPA I have fun, actually play more events, and feel like spending $100 I'm getting more then I paid for....

Please understand I deeply respect what the NPPL/PSP have done for the sport of paintball. But both the NCPA and NPPL/PSP have said they are far from perfect....I would however like to see chuck come up for elections sometime. For some reason I get this feeling it would be an interesting election...

Anyone know why he seldome chats on these sites? He use to, a lot, but he would get trashed all the time by upset players...I don't know if that even matters right now..but it's an interesting thought.

Millenium belongs to the promoters, and the players seem unwilling to do anything more involved than complain on web forums, and the players are thus treated accordingly. I know the players want more and are pissed that they're not getting it...
Where do you get the audacity from to say such a thing? How the f*ck do you know what we do or don't do off these boards? The people you seem to enjoy locking horns with have done a tremendous amount of work for paintball, more than you have ever done, and most, if not all of them have in some way, shape, or form been involved with organisational matters. How do you know whether I do or do not spend a large part of my free time on helping out making one of this year's events as good as possible? You just assume. All you can see is what we post on these forums, and unless you have a chrystal ball you cannot possibly know what we do with the rest of our lives. So I suggest you shut the **** up, go back home and play 'league' some more, and until you've been involved in setting up a real event I suggest you stick with the techroom threads.
I'm adding to Pete's demands by saying that if you post one more generalisation like that, I will throw you off these boards so fast your feet won't even touch the ground.

Thank you, and goodnight.

It's great if you're involved Jay, but as a player, or an employee of sorts of whoever is hosting that event? (Then again, there's not often a way to figure out who is which in paintball.) I'm just asking out of curiosity.

I don't mean to rag on the players who DO do something. And I know I'm being a bit of an ass lately, partially because I've got my own group of players over here who want everything handed to them, for free, but don't seem willing to contribute. I'm just as frustrated as you guys are, because I *KNOW* things could be better if people would just sit down and put some work and organization into it, but when push comes to shove, there's always a conspicous lack of people who will step up and do that.

I was just about to enter this one, as thought Chris might have taken some time out to think about how he comes across and perhaps adjust his tone because of the sheer number of respected people he annoys the fuk out of. plus like Nick says he did make some contribution to the trigger bounce debate.

But then I've seen he last few posts and can see that it's really not worth bothering about ........ again ........

I especially like the one about the NPPL running as a business and then bagging them for losing 30K errrr if they didn't know what they were doing and going for the long dollar do you really think any business would set themselves up to lose 30K - or however much it was ;) ??

Oh well, I thought it was too good to be true

Whats wrong with S7, Millenium, etc????

I have no qualms if its run as a business, thats how money is made, which in turn, is put back into it?

If you dont like it why are you putting so much effort into this argument?
You feel threatened by these events?

Ok guys, what's the point with Chris?

We all know he is probably the most arrogant person we have ever encountered, we also know he has basically done nothing in the sport and yet we all end up getting into arguments with him adding fuel to his fire.
And this is his game, he wants the fuel to be added, he has no other 'raison d'etre', this is it, this is Chris's life.
All the time we reply to him, it's his lifeblood because his only method of expression and self-justification is on these boards.

Whereas all others on this board, come to learn, come to teach, come to laugh, come to just observe, Chris is here for no other reason than to see and wallow in his own postings believing them to be monuments to his genius.

Even the consensus ridicule he attracts does not deter him and this is because he can't allow it to otherwise he has to face up to the fact, he's basically nothing in our sport.

Many times, people like Beaker, Buddha, Baca and Duffitusta have told him to change his tone but he ignores them all.
Now I can understand him ignoring me, but the people just mentioned are intelligent, nice sorta guys with no agendas or egos and yet he still doesn't get the message.
So what do we do, well, U know what I would like to do coz this site is here for the benefit of all paintballers and not just a stomping ground for Chris's ego, so I am gonna have a poll as to whether he stays or goes.
Simple !

Well I for one have had enough of Chris! I used to read his posts for amusement value but they've gone way beyond that now, and he comes across as totally arrogant with no idea of what living in the real world is like.

And Chris, before you dismiss me as a know-nothing female I should point out that I've been involved in the sport for around 15 years in many different roles including team support, non-playing team manager, player (captain & ordinary team member), ref (both rec and tourney), working in the trade ( for site and kit suppliers) and tournament series organisation. I came into the sport comparatively late in life & don't have much natural talent so never actually played above amateur level, which means I've always had to pay my own way.

I think that most of what Chris has posted recently is total b0ll0cks showing no understanding of what it's like in the real world.

OK guys, those who know me can breathe again - first real flame for months over now, promise I'll be back to normal from now on!

I'm not bagging on S7 for losing 30k.

They wanted to make an impact, and make an impact they did. I'm saying that's evidence that promoters are not operating under this huge profit margin that many seem to accuse them of doing. These guys are running events mainly out of charity (it's definitely not worth the "profits", when there are some) and all most players do is bag on them for every error from the safety of their keyboards.

I'm not sure if I'm just doing a crap job of communicating or if everyone has just decided to stick their own negative spin on whatever I say at this point. Probably mostly the former and some of the latter. <shrug>

I am not in the armed forces and never have been. I have opinions, however, on the use of force by my country. While having "been there, done that" lends credibility, it isn't a prerequisite to having an opinion.

For my part, I know what measure of salt to season Raehl's commentary with, in accordance of my opinion of him. I season everyone's input based on my values and their previous contributions. I imagine other's do the same with me, as well as anyone whose comments they read. What's the difficulty in judging what to disregard? Is it that annoying? I am just innured to collegiate intellectual ostentation by serving drunk college kids every weekend?

A lot of college kids feel a need to show how smart they are. It is the result of being tired and stressed out all the time, or the insecurity of having some fluff major where they aren't tired and stressed out, but are surrounded by people who are. Chris is probably a bright kid who majors in knitting or something.
