Planet Piper away from you freaks!
Need some good old fashion Paintball honesty (if there is any left out there :) )

I was reading a copy of PGI from a good few years back and there was that once great tournament series called the HCL League. Then I was stuck on the M25 and thought to myself....... Would players want to play a league system at different sites on woodland and sup air, or have we all got used to the way things are with the very few tournaments thoughout the year.

What if someone put on a League and lets say held 6 events over the year at different sites. Would the teams enter or not??
They could be done around the Millenium (spelling?) series, so teams could use it as practice, and for those that do not play the series could still get to play some good cheap paintball at some different sites.
So come on guys let me have your thoughts. Maybe this is the rambling of a mad fat man who spends too much time on the M25, or maybe not :D

It's already happening

The league/series format is already happening although not in the southeast, that I know about. You have the Midlands Masters in the Midlands (Obvious really) and Bully's series 2002 up North. Both are held at different woodland and concept sites. so whats going on down south then. Is there the interest like there is in the Midlands and the North.
We'll have to see.

Jesus Christ Piper! Get with the programme.

Cowhead's been feeding you too much scrumpy.

Ive got agreat idea! We could invent a round disc that would enable us to roll heavy objects more efficiently. We could call it the Wheel.

Ring Ring

Thats what i used to think about it anyway! Bag 'o' nuts mate.

Bully's series is very good, but I would like to have something in the south east (I think there's a south west league as well?).
ISTR we used to get spoilt down here with Dougie Setters running a league alternating at Sidcup and Eurosplat, then when he stopped doing tournaments the whole area went quiet. We do have Temple now, but it would be lovely to have a decent league at different sites.

Piper - you volunteering to organise something?

For those not old enough to remember, there used to be 4 divisions with I think it was 10 teams in each, and it was all 10 man. Try getting 40 10-man teams these days!

UK Masters 2002-2003

How about this for a possible solution, we at the Midlands Masters, working closeley with Mr Bull, are planning to mirror his series for next season, so we will have 10 events throughout the season, starting in October 2002, with legs in Oct, Nov, Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr,Jun,Jul, Aug.....These events will be at Bristol, Kidderminster, Wrexham, Nottingham, Uttoxeter, Maidenhead, and Possibly the Temple(get in touch guys). It would feature limited and unlimited paint, woodland, speedball, sup-air, and hyperball, with the inclusion of two INDOOR SUP-AIR events (The UK Indoor Masters, with 2 full sized 5 man fields ).

Its up to you guys, the players, you want it , we'll run it................

dear Andrew Piper

Go for it Andy

But will you allow teams from outside the area to join in?

And will you let us pay in potatoes (LOL)

Would we from the S.W be able to come and play?
The S.W league has around 6 legs in each series and between 15 and 20 teams normally enter and its pretty good.
It does take a while to get leagues organised and running smoothly though.
Its a good idea especially with so few tournaments around at the moment.
