Damn Paul you beat me to it.
Marchbrook you can pull off some serious whop arse moves without the worry of spending a week in hospital.
It doesn't make the sport any less or more extreme to have reasonable playing surfaces.
Skateboarding an extreme sport but their tournament surfaces are lovingly oiled and smooth
Idea??:D
Put Oil on the players, non friction sliding
" Gotta anny of dat oil laft"
"Well Grease me up woman!" Simpsons :D

Yep and it hurt way too much for me to try it again
My point was that a level playing surface could only improve the view of the sport as it allows better moves to be made.

I've played in the woods with the rocks, snakes, roots, rivers, etc. for years and loved every minute of it.

However, if I could play on manicured level fields every week, I would jump on it like Robbo into a tatto parlor.

I think what's important here is what we have become accustomed to in this new game we all play.

Sup' Air now rules the roost and teams have developed techniques accordingly, things like sliding in etc.
Although most of us used to play in the woods, to try and transplant modern day techniques back into the woods is dangerous and just because we used to play the woodland game doesn't make it acceptable that a field had rocks in it.

To win games at the top now, guys have to dive headlong into bunkers and if the field design doesn't take that into account in terms of playing surface then it is the promoters fault and not the players, it's as simple as that !

So what you're saying is that top players aren't accountbale for their own actions, that these same players shouldn't have to play in refrence to their surroundings, and they can blame the tournament promoters for the fact that they played in a desert?

Good lord Pete, you ARE an American!

I hate to agree with Robbo:) but here goes--
The dimensions and layouts of concept fields have dramatically altered what it takes to play them these days if you are intent on being successful and it seems to me that such considerations come under the heading of supplying an appropriate venue when the promoters are a) potentially liable for serious injury [regardless of the form the players signed] and b) taking thousands of dollars from the participants. Nor was anyone but the promoters responsible for choosing that venue and it's suitability. I don't recall the teams passing a petition around demanding they play Vegas or else.

Tyger--of course you might argue they didn't have to go if they didn't like it but then most of them had no idea what it was going to be like until the last minute and took on faith that a decent event would be put on. (And only a non-competitor would make that argument to begin with--)

I can just see Bob Long off of the field....
