Check your facts Bud - tha Lasoya quote said 'These are the worst fields I've ever seen.'

I then quoted another player who commented bout the rocks and sueing tha PSP; it was the latter quote which I was taking a dig at.

I am no Lasoya hater, quite tha opposite in fact...check out the RL thread where I believe I said 'I have played against and watched Lasoya on several occassions and seen nothing untoward and only sportsmanlike conduct.'

Annoying things facts I know, tend to get in tha way of what ya wanna say sometimes...

No worries dude

It is pretty weird though...95% of pball is played in woods where they are loads of hazards - we've all played at fields with bombholes, roots, cliffs, swamps, rocks...you name it...yet it's a major deal when the PSP fields ain't 100% rock-free. Guess it's to do with player expectation at tha end of tha day...I remember playing NPPL Pittsburgh a few years back - players getting frisky with poison ivy in tha woods and flying ass-over-butt across tha mound fields - now, tha same players expect a croquet lawn to play on.

And maybe they should, I don't know...

Any reported injuries?
Yeah, Bob Long screwed up his knee on one of the fields. Hyperextended or torn ligament or something along those lines

Sounds painful, but does not sound like an injury caused by the rocks per se. They usually cause scrapes and cuts. Torn ligaments are normally caused by trying to fold certain parts the wrong way...
Tripping over a rock, or catching it with your heel while sliding in, seems to be a easy way to "fold certain parts the wrong way".

As is being discussed in another thread, playing on surfaces other than the manicured lawns of the arenas means you have to be much more careful about the fast runs & stuff, and it can be quite hard to change your style from the arenas to that degree when you play on "dodgy" surfaces. This is going to be even worse for the front guys, as they've got used to being able to sprint flat out & slide into barricades that don't cause injury when you hit them at speed.
