1) Wasn't that already the case? Or was that a year or so ago and has changed now?Originally posted by Tom Allen
Maybe a radical re-think is needed, could these waste of time posts be just post count hype.
1)Drop the post count on posts in the classifieds.
2)Put a time limit on all classified posts - 7 days, then closed or deleted.
3)Often the problem stems from the seller grudgingly accepting the dithering buyers stalling techniques.
4)Sales must have pics and an adequate description, including prices and postage charges.
5)Limit items in the thread to one priced item per sale.
6)Feedback, not worth it, causes to much hassle.
2) 7 days isn't really long enough for some items to get sold, especially when you are talking about markers as there is a lot of money involved... maybe a longer time, 2 weeks? I guess it all comes down to the bumping rule anyway, if there is no interest the thread will just disappear on its own.
3) Thats the sellers fault, if they can't tell when someone is playing them there isn't much anyone else can do.
4) Not everyone has access to a digital camera/scanner (the hosting issue no longer counts) but other than that definatly agree, including things like postage etc. is a must, its will make things sell quicker.
5) Isn't that already a rule? Or was that a fad? I'm sure I remember it being said that if you have multiple items you should create multiple threads.... would make it easier as you will only have one person buying one item in a thread, altho it could lessen the oppurtunity for good deals where a buyer gets more than one item for a cheaper price.
6) Gotta agree there, the cons must outweigh the pros. If someone gives you bad feedback, how do you know its not just a disgruntled customer. Also I'm sure the addition of another forum just for feedback would create more work for our obviously over worked mods But knowing that you are buying from a trusty seller is always nice... its still easy enough to just look in the classifieds to see if there have ever been any problems with certain users though.
