Is anyone else sick of the timewasters in the classifieds ?

a feedback forum is a fantastic idea. why have the mods not created one ?

pb nation have one. they still have fraud too but in the uk we seem to have a better amount of etiquete when it comes to buying and selling.

there is a lot of trust involved in online transactions and a few people have lost out over the years.

having an area just below the classifieds where you can created threads with your name in there for people to search on would be ideal. especially for people who have never traded on here and are a little concerned about passing £500 over the postal system.

any feedback that duplicates an ip address of course should be removed.

I got stitched by a buyer- who after commiting to the sale- then messed me around for a month- before then pulling out, if i'd been an evil sod i would of cashed his post dated cheque- so that he incurred the fee of cancelling it- shame it was written by another member of his family and therefore i was unwilling to mess them about- so thanks a lot hardcore kid!

another thing that should be stomped on is people asking for photos to drool over- there are people who reguarly ask to see photos of guns/ kit- sometimes 3-4 different gats at the same time- and yet never seem to buy anything- and they seem to think it's ok to say - 'shame i cant buy it- but nice gat'

grrrrrr rant over- nice thread, i would like a feedback thread- i have no worries about getting a bad rateing- maybe a star rating system attached to the users profile?

Doing a ratings thing involves a lot of work, for which we frankly don't have the time.

A downside with a ratings system is that first time buyers and sellers will have a hard time because of their lack of rating.
But you can easily do the ratings thing of you just sell your stuff through Ebay, and post a link here.

I think I've been classed as a time waster when I was looking for an Angel to buy recently.
All I wanted was as much info, pics etc as possible.
As it happens, I went with Paintballbudgie as I have dealt with him before (heck, he gave me a free brand new redz comfortbelt without even knowing me!).

A rating system would be good and for first timeres having a hard time, even on ebay you start with a zero:p.
As for asking for pics, they help in that if someone is selling clothing or something made by a certain manufacturer, you can tell which product it is straight away and you get a bit of an idea of the condition too. Wish I'd asked for pics on a couple of things i've bought:rolleyes:

on pbnation, they have a forum specifically just for people to post title eg.

jack daniels feedback.

or le pigs feedback

in seperate threads.
then when people have dealt with you. they post to say how it went. if people want to trade with new users with no feedback, then they run that risk of not knowing their situation or history.

i have 188 pos feedback on ebay. but that has no bearing on my behaviour here. i could just post someone elses feedback. but there's no comeback for a buyer if something goes wrong. (apart from contacting the local police, and we all know how effective that is )

From a buyers perspective I agree with dibs causing issues, but dibs is just a way of saying........

"please hold that for me I must have it" or something along those lines. And when I see something I want I say that, either that or it go's to someone else.

There is a trend to it getting over used, and stupidly, like:

http://67.19.5.132/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40709

lol and then this dude says "no dibs policy" in his own sale post > http://67.19.5.132/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=41897

But it's not gonna stop. Either the seller holds out till you get the payment then say it's sold, leading buyers into a false sense, or put up with timewasters as there'll always be them.

I think clearer rules and reg's should be laid out in the classifieds section for buyers and sellers as theres no denying it's v.popular forum.

SELLERS JUST BE VIGILANT TO THE PERSONALITY/AGE OF EVERY BUYER, AND SEARCH FOR OTHER POSTS FOR RELIABILITY.
