Is anyone else sick of the timewasters in the classifieds ?

Jack Daniels

feckking pissed.....again
I have seen numerous threads recently in classifieds with certain users claiming "Dibs" on every single little bit of kit that's for sale, only to see that the buyer has blatently been messed about.

something should be done, as i believe that these sellers are missing out on buyers due to the fact that people click on the thread, interested, but get put off due to the fact that someone has already put "Dibs" on something.

Sales should be final on payment. not on who decides to have dibs because they feel they may want it, but aren't too sure at that point in time.

I personally think that TIMEWASTERS should be outed on here. to prevent others from following their lead.

No Dibs Policy

I'v been put off buying stuff because of people claiming dibs only to see the stuff back up for sale again. If I sell anything in the future, i'm going to state in the thread that I use a no dibs policy.

What d'ya think?:D

I know, but why do some people take the P?
I've seen so many gats for sale at rock bottom prices lately and sellers still get propa messed around. No need for it.

And your right first to pay should get the item regardless of "dibs".

It's something that has been discussed quite recently on these forums.

Unfortunately it is something that is inherent to internet forums, so don't expect it to go away anytime soon. As HP said, stating in your sales pitch that you use a no dibs policy is a good plan. In fact, I'll make a mention of it in the Classifieds rules sticky, so it'll be easier for the sellers out there.

But what if Party A and Party B want the item, and send cash that arrives at the same time?

Perhaps buyer discression, and common sense would be needed too, tho the no dibs policy could help some peeps.

think its meant more as , when seller agrees the item is sold and is sure the payment is on its way then they can tell others its sold pending payment

thou also now depends whos the person askin for dibs , ;)

At the end of the day, if three people post interest in, let's say a marker. The first poster gets the first chance, and so on. Given a reasonable amount of time (chosen by the seller) has elapsed, and the first has not said yes, then it goes to the second, ect, ect.

You can't be fairer than that.

There has to be some priority.

Don't post interest unless you want to buy.

Sellers, put up pics, and all relevant info.

I am with Tom, you have to have a priority, just to keep it fair for everyone.

I have bought and sold a lot of stuff on here.
If I go to buy, and are not sure if I got the funds or want it, I always say so.

If I am selling, first come first served, but you have to commit to buy it, before I will say its sold.

How about a feedback forum???? Where we can rate ourselves??

Would give the buyer and seller a bit better idea of who is who.
