Hey everyone...

As im new to this sport...well knew to owning my own kit anways..

Just wanted to know why Ions seem to get slated on here a bit...im not just whining just because i own 1 im just after a bit of info,,,

i know theres better guns out there like the DM6 and EGO's but the ION seems to be the only ''lesser'' marker that people give jip about...

thanks guys

many reasons really

Brought down the 2nd hand market for marker resell

not many like SP

Some have had bad experiences with the ion

Not matter how many people complain though, they are still a popular marker regardless

:p

One of the main reasons someone has said is the whole 'people not liking SP'

You'll find many people love to jump on the band wagon of 'SP haters for life'

The ion is an incredible marker and for the price its close to one of a kind.

Obviously those who have had genuine problems with them fair enough, not every marker is to everyones taste :)

Ions are cheap for a reason - they use relatively cheap materials. Threads strip, eye wires break etc. It's the same reason people slate shockers - smart parts' quality control is not up to par.

However, if you get a good ion, then you've got a gun that can compete with the big boys.

All of the above reasons and one more...

You see the same thing with cars - the Porsche owner turning up his nose at a Honda Civic. After spending $1000 on some expensive marker, slagging on another (cheaper) marker makes them feel better about themselves.

Not that any of the highly enlightened P8ntballer users would ever do something like that.... :D

There's absolutely nothing wrong with an Ion. Some people just can't accept that Smart Parts have made the biggest step in paintball for a long time.

I've owned a fair amount of markers, all of different sizes/shapes/makes but im gonna be using the Ion this year because its one hell of a marker for the price.

Our team has been promoted this year in the PA with about 80% of the team using Ions. This year it'll be about 95% - 100% of us using them as they give very little hassle with keeping them running and they do that exact same job as the **** which costs $1500 (my pound sign is busted so 1000quid)

Save your money, stick with an Ion and put the rest towards training and buying paint to shoot people with! You will not regret it

well i have a had a few problems with it but most people have problems with any gun. I think the main reason the people slate it is because of the plastic looks off it but now that lucky has brought out the stage 5 and element got the grip frame the ion is starting to look alot like a more expensive gun but it is relatively cheap
