Noting the level of Uni-ball in this country a combined NCPA team would not find much competition from a UK side. Also the chances of raising any team from any one uni that can afford to travel to the world cup...

A combined "UKUPA allstars" might be in some position to get sponsorship to take some of the sting out of the costs.

Yeah, I'm thinking you guys come over, play DII X Ball, and also play the winner of the US College X Ball. That way the combined team isn't interfering with the non-combined teams, but we still get the international flavor, and you still get the play time.

A guy goes away for a few weeks on holiday, and there are new organisations arrising whilst hes been away. Typical. Just as a question, How many of you guys out there are from different Universities (in the UK), and think it likely you would have a team up for an Inter Uni tourney? And do you know of any others? So far I know of the six that competed in the last years tourney (and Birmingham, is that right?)

And richard you might know this, there was a Uni last yuear that was going to compete in the Tourney, but pulled out because of the distance. Any ideas who they were?

I won't be down to crystal palace, (getting married on the 13th)

But it will be a good chance to sort some stuff out, so make sure you let those of us who can't make it know what's disscussed, (and have a pint for us.)

We've been discussing another inter-uni-tourney, which hopefully our new prez mat is sorting out for us. Obviously it would be be good to sort out stuff before then, like who's interested in being on the committee and what the aims of the assocition are etc. But it would be a cool if we could all be around when we properly establish the association and a tourney would be a good oportunity.

Note on World Cup...

We will PROBABLY let the Brits have a combined team and a spot in the event (after doing various schedule jiggling). It will PROBABLY cost $1,000-$1,200 to play, and PROBABLY be a minimum 2 matches (30 minute halves, so longer than Divisional or NXL X Ball).

Unless you can come up with a good reason otherwise, we will PROBABLY only let people on the combined team who are from a school where the paintball organization is officially recognized in some manner, or a school who has played in a British college tournament prior to world cup.

I say probably as details are still working out, but that's my best guess of the moment.


If, however, one Brit school can deliver a complete team made up of only their students, that team will get priority for the "European" spot - doesn't even have to be British. It is possible that more than one European spot would be available.

As vice chair, I say to all you students, come over to the UKUPA forum and have your say. Oh and Jose, it's not your tax money, it's OUR tax money, that's different!

I think that Campaign will be the first meeting (but Vice Chair is already gone OK!)
