lol,this thread has me in stitches! Hiya JM... Your original quastion was about paint hardness. IMO the fragility of the shell makes a BIG difference in how much of a welt it leaves. Get some nice fresh tournament grade paint and it will break on impact, hurting much less than several months old site paint! One team we played recently in the PA was using such fragile paint that i got hit on the throat and it burst without a welt or any pain... more like a wet kiss !!

Also, adrenaline acts as a pain-blocker to a degree which is why it hurts less when playing than it does when marshalling, so get her in a real-game situation rather than shooting her in the bum when shes not expecting it!

Why not bring her along to Star Wars Big Game in Kidderminster in October and she can meet some of us girly ballers and have a chat. There's no pressure to play all day... she can sit or play as much/little as she wants and be as close or far from the action as she chooses! They rent out equipment so that won't be a problem and best of all October is 'women in paintball' month so she would get a tenner off her entry! yeah i took a couple of hits in the neck at the pa and not one of them left a mark at all....in fact the only bruise i had all day was from a hit which found the half inch gap down the side of my body armour just under my armpit

i have another point here. its something that i recognized while playing and then looking at my bruises afterwards. i never feel pain when i get hit, i put it on the adrenaline(except for some real close range headshots ive taken). is it the same with you guys? when i get hit on the arm or something i actually dont feel it at the moment of the hit( i mean its not really hurting, of course i feel the "hit" itself). some hurt after the game " a bit" but its nothing that i would ever complain about.
but just clad your girl in elbowpads, knee- and shinpads, slidepants and this neoprene-chest armour and a nice cap. so she would be save from most pain, i think.

Yes, that is normal. Neck shots often cause bleeding, but I never realize it until someone mentions it to me. The only exception to this is shots to the goods. Not only do you feel it, but your body also has a general reaction to not remain standing.

That's why you save them for people you don't like.

Rather than reply to the rude and simple minded post you posted earlier and lower myself to your level, thought i might reply to this one to give you a hand rather than rant and rave!

My boyf introduced me to paintball 6 months ago. Before that, i hadnt even been to a paintball site.
I may not have caught the bug as much as he has (due to the fact he is a pro....!) but i am as eager as he is to train and play as much as poss. He now cant get me away from paintball. The adrenalin rush it gives me is just like nothing ive ever experienced before!

Best way to get her into paintball if she really wants to. Dont throw her in the deep end. When you go training, instead of her joining you with your team training, get her to play with the punters. She will then be at a level similar to her own (thats if she is a complete beginner from what i can gather!?!). If she feels she wants to continue and maybe progress from punter ball, then introduce her to walkons, and then tourny ball. its a slow process. this is the way my boyf introduced me to paintball and i think ive come pretty far in a short space of time!

Dont force the issue of her playing tho whateva you do!
Let her do things in her own time.
Best thing you can do is watch her play and give her your advise and just be very very supportive and helpful.

i think you misread or read what you would wanted to read, i was basically saying no group of people should be tarnished by the action or reaction of another person, and those that collectively judge a group of people do should have their opinion disregarded. i guarantee it wouldnt have been written as clear cut as that but that was the jiist of it.

i.e my missus being a wimp when it come to pb, doesnt mean all or any other pballing women are wimps. any person that thinks that 1 person represents a whole group, should have their opinion disregarded.

basically i was saying hold your head up high, as i and many more wont feel that you will react, or any other femal baller would, react in the same way as my missus does.

now hope that clears it up and thx for replying maturely to a legitimate question, about catching the bug.

See I always say getting ya girl into Pball is like getting her to give you your brown wings.
