lol, this thread has me in stitches! Hiya JM... Your original quastion was about paint hardness. IMO the fragility of the shell makes a BIG difference in how much of a welt it leaves. Get some nice fresh tournament grade paint and it will break on impact, hurting much less than several months old site paint! One team we played recently in the PA was using such fragile paint that i got hit on the throat and it burst without a welt or any pain... more like a wet kiss !!
Also, adrenaline acts as a pain-blocker to a degree which is why it hurts less when playing than it does when marshalling, so get her in a real-game situation rather than shooting her in the bum when shes not expecting it!
Why not bring her along to Star Wars Big Game in Kidderminster in October and she can meet some of us girly ballers and have a chat. There's no pressure to play all day... she can sit or play as much/little as she wants and be as close or far from the action as she chooses! They rent out equipment so that won't be a problem and best of all October is 'women in paintball' month so she would get a tenner off her entry! See Rec Ball forum for more info.. hope to see you both there on the Saturday nite for the party
