Like you.

I enjoy watching all the events in the olympics especially events like Running, swimming, long jump, high jump etc

Of course it would be excellent if Paintball made it to the olympics but I wouldn't hold my breath (hankin you can).

Honestly though, paintball can't even get decent TV coverage what hope does it have for Olympic status? I guess it is better than synchronized diving though.....
yeah, because synchronised diving gets loads of coverage :)

Then there's Azerbaijan... the only country as far as I'm aware whose national olympics committee have actually recognized paintball as an olympic sport. Not that they have the political clout to get it adopted for the olympics, but it's at least a step in the right direction.

Of course, given the party nature of many paintballers, it'd really put a crimp on their social life to have to put up with all the blood tests, etc olympic athletes go through. Imagine the fear of being tested after playing in Amsterdam! ;)

As for TV coverage, how often do you see synchronized swimming on TV, never mind the diving? TV coverage isn't needed to be an olympic sport.

I can't see paintball happening in the Olympics...well not in my lifetime (most of the reasons have already been posted) but then the same could have been said for the syncronized swimming and diving...on an Olympics thought what the hell is up with the Gymnastics..how can one person win over another with this "sport" they all do different routines and some get it perfect but score lower than the people doing the difficult stuff badly. Everyone should do the same routine, same vault etc and then you can work out who is the best..all of the other sports are easy enough, you score more bulleyes, you score more winning points (badminton, tennis, basketball etc), you lift more, you run faster, you throw further, you swim faster. Until gymnastics is standardised it isn't a true sport as I see it..(let the flames begin) oh before you do try and flame me I regard paintball as a game not a sport...it does get political I know but come on prepubesent teenagers in leotards doesn't get all of the viewing figures due to the skills they have.

Aren't the gymnastics events usualy considered "individual disciplines" not sports?
And I'm pretty sure paintball meets all the criteria to be considered a sport. The olympics is full of comical events that have been given olympic status so weird made up countries can have something to be good at.

In my opinion paintball is an ideal olympic sport:
- Teamwork
- State of the art
- Derived from a war game (like all the traditional sports) ((flames?))
Games are quick to play (just 5 man event - league table, like football or volleyball)

I think it has more watchability than some sports (if they can be called sports!)
