United States......BITCHES!
Hand Me a Cup

Hand me a cup, and Im all set :D Who knows, maybe to enforce drug testing, hot women will be there (and men for the ladies, or guys...) to get the other guys to flock there anyway. Wait, the image of handing a hot woman a hot cup of your piss isnt that hot anymore.... Well, just do the drug test, and watch your drink. :D

Tyger, Tyger, Tyger...you really are the cat's meow when it comes to asking intriguing questions.

Isn't one of the stipulations of competing in the Olympics that you cannot be a pro in your chosen sport? So that would (I'm guessing) disqualify the "Pro" class of players in paintball, reality being otherwise. I could be wrong, so don't hold me to that.

I would imagine that a team could be picked from various Am level teams to make an Olympic team...one that was clean, anyways.

1) Hey, that's what I do.

2) Let's talk about the US Basketball "dream team"... bett yet let's not. Hockey in the olympics is littered with NHL players, and didn't the "Fab 5" of the women's US olympic soccer team play pro too? The pro status of any given player is, seemingly, irrelevant.

And the wording of the rule is : "1.1.3 : Only sports that adopt and implement the World Anti-Doping Code can be included and remain in the programme of the Olympic Games. " Which I read to mean that the official governing body of the sport in question must use and utilise the WADC. All olympic sports main governing bodies must adopt an anti-doping rule.

Translation, the Super 7 / PSP / Millenium would have to adopt it into practice. Keep in mind that in the states (this is for the UK readers) that NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and all the other sporting bodies do random drug testing as SOP.

So to get paintball into the olympics, paintball will have to begin drug testing. Like it or not, it's how things work. Hey, you want paintball in the olympics, this is an inevitable step to do that.

Question.....
Why do any sports agencies routinely test for THC/marijuana/hash type substances? Aren't anti-doping laws to prevent performance enhancing drugs? Why should recreational drugs be on a list of substances to check for? Do they check for alcohol? How about Tylenol, or morphine? Just because its a "DRUG" doesn't mean it will help you play in any way, shape, or form. I realize thats more than one question, but you get the point.

>>Why should recreational drugs be on a list of substances to check for? <<

because recreational drugs are being considered as being perfomance enhancing as well.

The fact people are using a blunt in a recreational way
doesn't mean it can't be used to up some kind of performance :)

For the Olympics : A lot of it comes from the 1988 winter games. A Canadian snowboarder (go figure) tested positive for marijuana use. But since it wasn't on the banned substance list, they couldn't "do" anything to him. It was shown that you could stand on top of the hill, toke up, and go down the run without reprisal from the IOC.

You can predict the rest. Outcry, embarrassment, and alteration of the rules.

As for locally, if you spend millions on an athlete, do you really want them to be dependant on a dealer for a "fix" before a game? I'm going far here, but you get my point.

Don't forget that the list of banned substances not only includes performance enhancers, but also masking agents. Perhaps if there's dope in your pee, the machine gets too stoned to tell (or even care) if there's anything else in there. :D

PS. Buddha, sorry about the name confusion earlier. Must be the drugs talkin' ;)

Don't know about alcohol, but the main ingredients in Tylenol and Advil were on that banned substance list, as well as aspirin and, yep, morphine.
